The powers that be ought to rein in the officials' time wasting. Limit clock reviews to the last 30 seconds of each half or overtime period.
What really chaps me is when the officials hold up the game for two minutes, add a second on the clock, and then the team with the ball milks the clock. What was the point of adding that second?
All these reviews need to be reconsidered. Most of them aren't worth the damage they are doing to the game. I'm just not buying the "you've got to get the call right" argument to justify all this.

First Big 12 loss and biggest upset yet.
With 30 wins coming in I thought UCI should have been seeded a bit higher. Overall the Big West was weak this year but the Anteaters were clearly far better than any other team in the conference.

The game suffers enough with CBS’ coverage and their incessant stoppages. A momentum buzzkill. Now, what, the game needs these official reviews so frequently now? Oh, and there’s time to jam in an ad? Wow, convenient.
But, you’re right. It’s not just these reviews, but how violent the game is getting with all of these flagrant fouls? Like, really? I thought it was suspicious how the MVC ccg turned on its ear by one moment...but with the game having some linkage between network (cameras) and officiating, the integrity is suspect.

Big 12 looking strong.
That was a great win for the Sooners.
Very much so. It's been a rough year in conference for us. This team looked awful in certain Big 12 games. We played well against a good non-conference schedule and got a 9 seed. This is a flawed team, but still went out and won a NCAA tournament game. We've had much better teams lose in the first round.
We're playing with house money against Virginia. We'll see what happens.

That was my cue to pick UC Irvine in my bracket. I don't get all the upsets right, but I got that one.
Of course, I blew it on 10 seeds Minnesota, Florida, and Iowa, so good bracket picks get overridden by bad ones.

You do understand the stoppages are exactly the same as in an ESPN game..... Or Fox.

At long last, a First Four team always advancing to the weekend streak comes to an end this year.

As I said, clock reviews would be ok if limited to the last 30 seconds. But in Iowa-Cincinnati it wasn't. There were too many stoppages.

PAC tournament champ Oregon blows out Wisconsin in the second half.
B1G suffers first loss, another 12/5 upset.
Oregon has won 9 in a row, needing basically all of them to make the tournament, and eliminate a Wisky team that usually advances.

Heck of a story:
https://sports.yahoo.com/how-nate-oats-w...01441.html
Nate Oats was coaching high school basketball and teaching math at Romulus High School in Michigan six years ago. He was selling snacks in his classroom to help pay for the program. He won one state championship and made five state tournaments. Bobby Hurley discovered him while recruiting and offered him a job with him at Buffalo. Buffalo just upped his pay to $800,000, but he'll still get offers after the tournament.

I know UB won't be able to pay what P5 schools can but some UB fans have heard that Nate Oats and his family love Buffalo. Money talks but hopefully not in this case.
I wish the Bills and Sabres owner Terry Pegula would make a nice donation to the athletic department so we could give Oats more money.

Yes, major collapse by MSST. They had a 90% chance of winning with just 6 minutes to go.
It was a tough day for the SEC. Ole Miss losing an 8/9 matchup was by itself no crime, but getting blown out like they did was telling. MSST loses as a 5 seed to 12 Liberty, and even though Tennessee won, they were hardly impressive in barely beating a 15 seed.
Overall, a very weak day for the SEC.
