CUSA extends basketball tournament for two more years in Frisco
The tournament is staying in Texas for two more years, inspite of poor attendance (Marshall vs Southern Miss) actually had 250-300 fans in attendance for what is being reported as a great game.

With few fans and little media present from the news papers in cities where the schools are located the conference is sending a message. THE FANS DON’T MATTER!

The Big 12 just re-upped for a few more years at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO (45 minutes from the nearest team - sound familiar?). Technically, there are no Big 12 teams in Missouri.

Maybe it's time to quote from one of the most prophetic comic strips of all time - Pogo - and chew on these words for a bit.

Is there a link about this and the attendance that you could post?

The attendance listed for both the men's and women's finals was 3,017. It was listed as 1700 for our quarters, and just under 2600 for our semis. Someone else can look up the listed men's crowds for those days. I'd say we had close to 1000 Rice folks for the championship game for the women? Maybe a bit more, it's tough to know for sure in a big facility.

Looks like it is past time to split this into two regional conferences and go back to tournaments on campus before it is too late.

CUSA fans do not travel well because CUSA basketball doesn't have any brand value/fan support right now. So regardless of where the tourney is, there's going to be about 30 fans from a few schools griping about where it's being played. Our bball conference is too spread out and and has zero support to boot.

Could someone with some technical capabilities make a ******* population map of CUSA fan support so these western schools fans can understand what the problem is?

How would you guys feel about learning the baseball tourney was going to be in Huntington until 2022?

I doubt that Rice and Southern Mississippi would ever let Huntington outbid them. But if Huntington did submit the best bid, it is off to West Virginia we go.
