Nader, Marin and Stainbrook, all recent transfers to prominent conferences, had good careers post transfer.
well, of course he can't include those guys. they would have wrecked his whole "the MAC sucks" argument! what a hack this guy is.
Not picking a side here ... but story does not list ALL the players who have transferred since whenever the Lewis kid went to OSU nor does it list ALL the kids who made a bad mistake and ALL the kids who made a good one.
But if you are trying to say more MAC kids made good transfer choices than bad ones, based in part on a kid who went to DePaul ... DE-FRIGGIN-PAUL.... whew. I don't know what to tell ya.
Transfers, in I would guess 75-percent of the cases, are not good ... period.
Gotta read all the way down to the third sentence, Cleveland. You and the author may disagree whether Stainbrook playing a big role on a Sweet Sixteen team equals Lewis’s success but it’s fatuous to pretend that he didn’t make a quantum leap from WMU and sustain his level of play, or that I was hard pressed to come up with him or Marin (are you trying to say NIU >DePaul, whew, don’t know what to tell ya) or Nader who plays in the NBA (NIU > Oklahoma City Thunder?). Guy didn’t do his homework.
There are exceptions to every rule ... Stainbrook, Nader stand out for sure. You are correct.
... But the baseline remains the same. Majority of guys who transfer up from the MAC do not fare very well. Majority of transfers do not fare well. Speaking for myself ... that's all I'm saying.
I agree with you, but the writer seems to be denying that, saying there are no exceptions. If I can come up with three guys in the last six years from teams I don’t follow, “hard put” is an overstatement.

Outside of Cleveland, does any of the other major media markets in the MAC footprint write stories on the MAC as a whole(Detroit, Cincy, Chicago, Indy)? It's a genuine question. I haven't seen any shared here. Wasn't sure if that was because people don't post them or if it's because the MAC gets no coverage in those markets.
Chicago acts like they don't know the MAC exists. Some of the time, they don't even know NIU exists.
