Will be played in San Jose

Solid seed for Liberty. I don't hate the pairing. The location is not ideal but it is not an advantage to MSU. I like our chances though we are deservedly underdogs.

I bought my ticket and I'm hoping to see the upset so I can stick around all weekend.

This is clearly a time where pre-game hype will effect the game. LU has been mentioned as this year's "Cinderella". A team that will sneak up on supposedly better teams. A sleeper. This year's St. Mary's.

Unfortunately, LU is no sleeper. Las Vegas betting lines run from 7.5 to 6 points as a good bet on LU. Major sports media outlets, including CBS list MS ripe for a 12/5 upset. In essence, bulletin board material for Mississippi State. That kind of media attention gives an edge to a team that is one of those intangible factors. MS coaches will use the chatter and MS players will be challenged. It creates an edge for MS and a greater challenge for LU. It also provides an opportunity for LU.

The ironic part is LU deserves it's accolades. But the accolades put an added level of pressure to perform, at a higher level if the team is to win. So a win against Mississippi State now has a greater emphasis. It's become one of those interesting first round games where expectation is for the Flames to win in the upset.

LU had a better chance to win this game before the talking heads and blogger hype. If LU can win, with this added expectation, it will be another step forward for the program in quality, beyond the obvious essence of the win.

I want to say we'll win but I don't think so. We are fully capable of beating Mississippi State but I can't pick it. Ironically, I'd like our matchup with Virginia Tech better if we were to win which I believe we can for the record.

We may not be the only 12-seed to advance to the Round of 32 but maybe we could be the only 12-seed to advance to the Sweet 16.

I respect your honesty, but I believe we can take them. If we play our game at our pace and not rush shots and play at their tempo, then we have this game.

Awesome job team! Amazing season and it's not over yet! I didn't expect a win but knew we were capable. Can we be the Cinderella this year? Why not?
