Hmm I seem to have missed the part where Huge took Shaver behind Kaplan Arena and used one of those CW muskets to blow his head off...

It's really more like when Kim Jong Un had people poison his step brother if you want a good analogy.

RE: The Buy Out
I am simply going on info provided in this thread, but if the annual salary of a D1 Men's Hoops coach at WM is $275,000 (est), good luck finding someone better than the former coach. You have a school with very little in the way of basketball tradition and whose fan support is tenuous at best, so unless that's getting at least doubled I don't see some phenom coach coming through the door.

The fact that the school is stuck with paying out his severance package limits how much you can bump the salary up for the new coach, or at least logic would dictate that unless the Athletic Dept is suddenly flush with cash from somewhere?

Might someone be bankrolling the athletic department to pay off Tony? That way it costs the College nothing.

That's the thing, Ms. Huge has already shown we are ready to pay new staff more than long time former staff. Money is no longer an issue...an extra 100k on previous HC's salary here, 1.7mil buyout there...no big deal.

There must be a printing press hidden down in the basement of the Kap, cranking out greenbacks.

I was afraid to laugh out of fear.....and that's not out of doubt for a woman's qualifications as a head men's basketball coach. I have a personal deep conviction that women should coach women's sports teams and men coach men's teams through the college level. Sorry if that offends anyone, but I simply believe young women and young men need their respective gender role models through that development age, though I know that may not be a PC position.

I will add that I actually think it would have been worthy to have included a woman in the group chosen for our AD's advisement group.

@NJ Alum -- any insight on this or the offset language?

I will simply say that the numbers that I posted were base salary numbers.

Am I missing something? Why not just post the contract?
