Yes. Really wish some of our fans could show a bit more class. WKU would be a great rival if we weren't 3rd in line behind MT/MU

Kudos to WKY. Mot a team I felt comfortable playing.

That’s what I loved about these 2 teams playing. 3 intense, tough, physical games and not 1 shred of “turdness” showed from anyone.

From ODU fans ... thanks. Your guys almost stopped our Tournament run before we could even get it started. Tech should be a strong contender for conference honors next season if everyone returns to the team as expected. 04-cheers

Despite the pre-game trash talking, and the going overboard by some fans of both teams I feel as though we can respect each others programs. I am proud to be conference mates with WKU.

GO MONARCHS!!!

Yes painted blue we go back to the old sun belt days.
Some may not know that 9 of the 14 Cusa members were at
one time in the Sun Belt. ODU and WKU had some awsome womens basketball teams.

Good luck in the ncaa

I have vivid memories of those days that ODU and WKU were in the Sun Belt Conference together. Both had some very strong teams during those years. In my opinion, some of ODU's strongest teams were Sun Belt Conference teams with Paul Webb as the coach. South Alabama also had some strong seasons during that time in the conference as well.

I remember one year the Sun Belt got 4 teams in the NCAA tourney.
They have everything rigged now with these Quad 1 wins.

She looked straight pissed too. Maybe she knows she's getting canned. Wishful thinking.

Congrats Old Dominion. This was your year.

I noticed Judy frowning, too. Great look for national TV, but expected. What a great personality she must have.

A little late, but congratulations ‘Narchs. Give ‘em hell in the tournament! And I quote from the gospel of THUNDERStruck73: “Rise up and smite the Boilermakers, o mighty Monarch smiters. As it is written, so shall it be done.”

RE: Congratulations ODU
A little late but Congratulations to ODU on the conference championship.

Again Congratulations and no matter how it feels tonight... winning the conference championship and going to the NCAA tourney is a helluva better than not. Purdue was just a bad match up because they play a ugly style (like ODU) but have size and enough shooters to make it work.

The 11 hour drive down and 11 back and 3 days of sitting and watching basketball put me in a world of hurt. Tonight was my first time being out of bed over an hour or two since Sunday. I knew the pain was coming (hurt back) but didn't think it would be this bad. After only making 5 home games all year (2 hour drive) I should have known better but didn't want to break our 10 year streak in going to conference tourneys.

Sorry to hear about your back issues. I know from experience that when a person is experiencing sharp, stabbing, back pain it almost doesn't matter what part of your body moves it can set it off. When mine infrequently flares up, the only thing that has ever helped me is a muscle relaxer (skelaxin). Best wishes on your recovery.

On the basketball side of your post .... thanks for the kind thoughts. It was nice to see the team win the conference regular season, the conference tournament, and get back in the NCAA Tourney. I expected them to come up short in their game against Purdue. ODU did better than I had expected them to this season, but I don't think that the top 2 or 3 teams in the league were quite as strong this season as the league has been at the top positions the past 2 or 3 seasons. As things stand today, I honestly believe that ODU will finish in POD 1 again next season. That said, a lot of things can change between now and then that might make me rethink that opinion.

Just curious if you sat in the chair back seats this year.

I liked the court setup this year much better in that it made the chair back seats a more preferred seating option.

Not that they’re super fancy seats... but IMO better than sitting on the bleachers.

Yeah, we used the GA seats, and not only do the sit better...better view lines. It's cheaper buying GA tickets day by day than the $180 booklet to sit on the other side. In worse seats.

Looking forward to next year and going to do it different. We played it day by day this year but next year we are staying every day even if Western goes out. It's usually my son and I but next year I'm also taking the wife and my grandson who will be 1.5 years old. Think we use it as a mini vacation and a tourney... will go back to the Dallas Zoo...been 4 maybe 5 years since my son and I was there.
