Andy Kennedy would be a really good hire.

Yep. I dunno if he could get Tulane to the big dance, but he would certainly get them into some kind of postseason within a few years. Green Wave basketball would be respectable again.

Andy Kennedy would be an excellent hire. And Id bet he'd take the job.

The general rule I use to evaluate coaching hires is to not hire coaches that have failed before. Andy Kennedy failed.

Tulane making moves.

Lots of talent on that team, lack of depth at key positions, a good coach should get quite a bit out of them

I think Tulane would be better served by a young and energetic up-and-comer than a retread.

This was the last key move the AAC needed. I think Dooley will make ECU at least respectable. We just needed Tulane to get there. All the rest of the coaches have proven they can make their teams Top 100. A few of them SHOULD be able to do more but if we can get everyone including ECU and Tulane top 125ish. Then we just need to have a consistent 5-6 top 50 teams (we are already almost there) and the bids will keep rolling in.

If Kennedy couldn't make it at Ole Miss, why would he make it at Tulane?

He put together one of my favorite Cincy teams in 2005. I would be worried that he does not have the burn to get the job done at Tulane. Like some of the prior posters, I think the Tulane job is for a young man.

Different sport, but Bill Belichek did poorly at Cleveland before going to the Patriots.

You are aware that Kennedy is responsible for 25% of Ole Miss’ tourney berths in school history, correct?

In Kennedy's 12 years at Ole Miss...

9 20+ win seasons
Only 1 losing season (when he was fired midway through his last season)
2 NCAA Tournament bids
6 NIT bids (2 Semifinals)

If he can do that at Tulane, that's a great success.

There are definitely some exceptions to the rule. That was before my time so it might’ve been a different landscape but I’d argue one playoff appearance in 5 years in Cleveland isn’t really a failure.

Andy Kennedy is a damn good coach, and would be a good hire by Tulane.
