Is there any hire that Tulane makes that would pull 3,000 fans into their gym on a nightly basis?

RE: Dunleavy Out
Yes the hire that has Tulane winning consistently will fill their gym. I would like to hear why Ole Miss fans hate Kennedy so much. As a poster documented earlier, he was a conistent winner who took them to the ncaa tourney twice and deep into the NIT several times. With so much experiance coaching/recruiting in the south he would be a good fit. Only concern is if he still has the burn/fire to make it happen and build something at Tulane. Otherwise I’d look at Billy Kennedy, Steve Forbes from ETSU (was formerly an assistant at UT, La Tech) and the coaches from Yale & Furman.

Steve Forbes is also a former WSU assistant. He would be a great hire

Forbes will do better than Tulane.

Different sport, but Bill Belichek did poorly at Cleveland before going to the Patriots.

Just proves Brady is the real reason the patriots are the patriots.

belichek is riding the coat tail.

I think Tulane made a mistake. You guys had some major injuries this season, but you could see the team improving. Don't you have a highly rated recruit coming in next year that Dunleavy got. He deserved one more season especially after the promise of last season.

If there's a hire that can pull their NET to sub 200, thats a win-win for them and the conference.

I don't think there is any excuse when you only get 4 wins and zero conference wins in a top 6 league in your third year. That's flat unacceptable.

The place has been packed any time the team's been any good...which was almost 20 years ago...but it was packed. Let's try having a good team and see if that works.
I guess the team played a little better the last 3 or 4 games of the year; but how much of that was better play v. the opponent sleepwalking. i have no objections re his recruiting - on paper at least it was respectable. But the play was not.

Give Tulane a Top 100-ish team that wins (avg.) 19-20 games per season. Fogelman/Devlin will have 4,000 very loud spectators for every home game.

Dunleavy should have gotten another year ? Hahahaha, where can I hear the rest of your stand up routine ?

In Response to Forbes being too good for Tulane:
Tulane will write a check for $1.2-$1.8m annually in a power basketball conference in one of he best cities in the country at a gorgeous elite university with minimal expectations. I think a formerly disgraced assistant who is making 800k at East Tennessee would be pretty happy to come to Tulane.

These suggestions of Forbes and Kennedy are good ones in my opinion. If offered I can see either of them accepting the job. You can actually win at Tulane.

800k at a school where he basically has a lifetime contract and entrenched family roots with good fan support vs a school where it might be impossible to win at with no fan support in a city no one really wants to live in.
