I'd say the keys are three-fold. One, handle their pressure. I think Rice's defense is so much superior to UAB that some of the offense I saw yesterday from MTSU wouldn't work against Rice. I like Rice's chances if those three things happen. I also don't know if they have anyone who can stop Ogwumike.

Nicole didn't contribute much on Thursday either-- 2 3's, including one to start the game, but that was it. Period. We need her's and Gigsby's outside shooting to open things up for Erica and Nancy. Otherwise, MTSU will be tempted to double up those two.

Gonna be a pretty good crowd. Lots of Rice folks in the Star this afternoon and over at City Works...

This game is going to depend on how everybody other than Mulkey defends. She'll be important, but I imagine they'll try to isolate her on the perimeter and let their talented guards work. Really tough matchups across the board. Let's see what we're made of.

I guess deserve the idiots we always get for our TV broadcasts. "Rice lead by conference player of the year, Nancy Mulkey" Incredible. The play by play and color did state Erica as the POY.

Mix of good offense by Middle and some meh defense.

Hayes is killing us on penetration and layups. No defense so far.

MTSU hitting us with jabs to the jaw. Scoring at will. If this keeps up, we're gonna need near-perfect execution on offense for four quarters. 14-9 MTSU with the ball.

They are doing a good job going cross court inside to keep Mulkey from being able to block the shot.
