Shaver out
Huge surprise to most.. One of the best coaches in the CAA. With the team they have coming back probably one of the favorites next season. Wish him much success going forward and hope this does not turn into a disaster for them

RE: Shaver out
Makes just about zero sense, even if it was going to be a lame duck season (I do not know if it was). Coming off of his best defensive team ever, and bringing back in paper the favorites, I do not understand how he is not given the opportunity to finish the job with this team. My guess is they decided to move on and dont want to make that decision harder if he does cut down the nets next season. That or they truly dont believe he has what it takes to get it done, even with that crop of players. Definitely strange. He was one of the top 2 coaches in this league for sure with Coen. W&M is a tough job, and he made it work.

This is going to turn out to be a disaster for W&M. I'm sure Shaver has a lot to do with why most of his talented roster is at W&M. It will be interesting to see how many players leave. This might be the toughest job in the CAA due to the academic standards.

It wasn't. Not even close. They owe him $1.7M for his buyout.

Crazy number for a mid major to pay. She really did not want Shaver winning next season.

Coach hirings are already starting, but it seems like WM is either moving very slow here or is keeping the lid firmly shut on information leaking out.

Jamion Christian to George Washington. That's a good fit and well deserved for him. Hope he does well there.

We should all be hoping WM gets this hire right, as they've been a contender in the conference the last 10 years and the last thing this conference needs is for WM to take a dive.

With everyone transferring out, the hire may not matter for them. Virigina has weird hiring rules for public positions. JMU has fought it as well. If Bryce Drew is let go completely they would be smart to look at him, but not sure they can afford him. Without a team, it will be tough to convince a coach it is a good gig.
