I’m not interested in posting someone else’s contract. You were. We’re different.

Let's not forget that you also started a thread about it and quoted large portions of it. More importantly, you presented it as current and acquired through your own FOIA request, not correcting people when they inferred as such.

I would argue that presenting partial information and in a misleading manner is not morally superior to just linking to the primary source, but like you say, we're different.

RE: Tony Shaver Has Been Let Go
Am I supposed to correct you, or will my silence be morally inferior?

Tony Shaver Has Been Let Go
(03-20-2019 01:07 PM)wmmii Wrote:  We clearly have the correct contract now as it was amended by Tony on 5/5/18 for his boat slip location change.

So base salary was $230,700 and inflates at 4% starting 7/1/15 which makes it $269,887. Severance is locked into this salary. However the contract states he will still be paid each year $25,000 for a retention bonus and $25,000 educational stipend. This takes his total amount owed up to $319,887 per year for 5 years plus the balance of this year until 6/30. No other payments under the contract like his car allowance, boat slip fee, 20k for Tony Shaver show, golf membership, or $25,000 promotion fee are included.

This contract was originally thru 6/30/20 with automatic extension available until 2024 contractually linked to one year for each conference winning record from 2014-2020. Those automatic extensions had already extended his contract until 6/30/2024 before this season so his record this year had no impact on the contract. It states the AD review will be done before May 1 each year but the AD had no control over the automatic extensions.

The contract has two ways to fulfill the obligation. The first option requires Shaver to seek "gainful employment" (which would imply any job) with a offset for his new income and is paid out one would presume monthly. The second option allows the College can give Shaver a lump sum payment of ONLY the base salary and Shaver can retire or get another job without any offset. These option are up to the College to elect.

Also i agree with Tribeheart that he could make more now in a new HC job if he choses to do so and agree it does not make up for the emotional loss.

A reminder of the facts in Shaver old contract
