Camren Wynter - CAA Rookie of the Year
Congratulations to Cam for being the best freshman in the CAA this year. Well earned and well deserved. Cam was also in the All-Rookie Team

The only other Drexel players to win awards...
Troy Harper and Alihan Demir received 3rd Team Honors

RE: Camren Wynter - CAA Rookie of the Year
Rookie had 17 votes for Wynter, 10 for Toews, 7 for Audige, and 6 for Horton. Rookie Team, which has separate voting, had Wynter first with 156 and Toews second with 146.

You're tied with Hofstra and Delaware for the most Rookies of the Year in the 18 seasons you've been in the CAA. Damion Lee and Fouch won it. ODU had 2 Rookies of the Year in 22 seasons, and VCU had 1 in 17 seasons. You have as many as both of them combined. Richmond has the most with 5, and JMU leads teams still in the CAA with 4.

Congrats to all. Definitely deserved for Cam. He finished strong, Toews did not. His turnovers did not help either despite those crazy number of assists. Cam had an incredible season and I am glad he was rewarded especially with the load he had to carry as injuries piled up.

Forwards rarely win Player of the Year. Jerrelle Benimon won it in consecutive seasons when he averaged 11.2 rebounds both times. The Player of the Year with statistics closest to Demir was George Mason's Ryan Pearson in 2011-2012. https://static.caasports.com/custompages...m#team.ind has his statistics. In 2010-2011, the top six scorers were seniors, including Jenkins. The 2011-2012 senior class wasn't great.

Riller and Knight are the best returning players. A lot of guys could be the best next season other than those two.

I am hoping he was joking. Demir has not shot at MVP unless he drastically improves. Knight is a shoe-in at this point in time

Somebody said Knight declared for the NBA Draft. With all of the graduations and transfers, you could have the best group of four returning players in Lee, Wynter, Demir, and Butler. Butler will be the leading returning rebounder, and Demir will be the fourth leading returning rebounder.

UNCW fans linked to https://uncwsports.com/news/2019/4/2/men...award.aspx which is titled "Toews Finalist For Kyle Macy Award." There are 30 finalists for the top freshman. Wynter and Toews are the CAA's finalists.

He declared but I do not think he is ready or would be taken beyond as a flier late where they would send him to the G league or Europe. He has some work to go before he is NBA ready. Keep in mind last season both Isabell and JWF both declared for the NBA too and were playing college hoops this past season. Knight did not hire an agent so he can still return. W&M boards make it sound like transferring is out as he does not have the credits to be a grad transfer.

RE: Camren Wynter - CAA Rookie of the Year
If he really wants to leave W&M, he can play in another country if no NBA team will take him for the NBA or G League. JWF improved his shooting, while Isabell shot worse as a senior. NBA and G League teams might be more willing to take him after playing a season in another country than a season at a mid-major who as far as Men's Basketball is concerned is unknown or known for being an original team that has never made the NCAA Tournament, and they will probably be bad next season. If Pemberton and Buie had transferred after 2017-2018, I wouldn't have blamed JWF for going pro in another country instead of being a senior.
