RE: Final women's basketball standings
Looks like seed will hold true to form rather easily in the quarters today. It should be #1 Rice vs #4 Western Kentucky, and #2 UAB vs #3 MTSU tomorrow evening in the quarters.

We may lose to UAB, but thankfully don't have to face Rice in the semis.

They absolutely went off against LaTech in the final regular season game shooting something like 80% after 3 quarters scoring 84 points before mostly bench players played the 4th. It was absolutely insane how they couldn't hardly miss in that game. Even the Tech announcers were stunned. Hopefully that is a good sign going into the tournament.

Yes, we seem to bring out the best in everyone. 03-banghead

Rice down 5 at the half to Western Kentucky but rallies for strong 2nd half and 64-57 win. Owls to face UAB-MTSU winner tomorrow afternoon.

MTSU wins the other semifinal. Hayes went off for 34 points I think?

Should be a good final tomorrow.

Said two months ago CUSA WBB Finals would pit Rice against MT. 02-13-banana
Now, if only I had bet on the match up 03-banghead Believe it will be a good one. Best case scenario would be an MT win; cause with Rice's regular season CUSA might get two in the dance. If Rice wins, I would not expect MT to get an invite.

RE: Final women's basketball standings
Rice wins by 15. MTSU played a great first half (and led by 8 after a Rice basket near the end of the half). But MTSU had no legs in the 2nd half at all, and Rice just did not miss. Congrats to MTSU but this is a special Rice team that would not be denied. 28-3 - they can make a pretty good case that it's the best CUSA women's team in conference history (it's the first one to go undefeated in both the regular season and conference tournament).

Mulkey with 24 points and 8 blocks. I hope she's the tournament MVP (and she was).

Dont think i have ever seen a big girl or big guy like that have more blocked shots than rebounds.

It’s a real time saver to just snag them on the way up without having to wait for them to come back down off the rim.

Also, Mulkey should qualify for the minimum games played and become the NCAA leader in blocks-per-game with the next game.
