GSU Hires Coach Jermaine "Jimmy" Smith to Football Staff
The name sounded familiar, and realized that I recognized Coach Jimmy Smith from watching a nationally televised game on ESPN between his No.2 Cedar Grove and No.5 Hewitt-Trussville (class AAAAA in Alabama). Under Smith's tenure, Cedar Grove went 67-14-1 and won the state title twice in 2016 and 2018. Hiring the head coach of a local powerhouse high school program should help build relationships with high school coaches around metro Atlanta.

Not saying that hiring a local coach has any impact (144 retweets and 544 likes), but hiring a local coach has an impact.

Great hire. He could be the next Dell McGee.
