The CBI or CIT would be more popular if they turned themselves into a Vegas 16 type tournament.

They'd be more popular if more people knew they existed. Have you ever tried to get the scores on the internet? They are really hard to find.

Yeah, if FS1 or NBCSN or ESPN2/ESPNU picked up the semi-finals and finals it might be more talked about than CBSSN.

??? They will be holding out for a long time then, since they have no shot at the NIT.

Could be they're deciding which of the C tourneys to play in and whether they want to pay to host. It's not like there's any danger of them being shut out of them.

RE: 2019 CBI/CIT accepts and declines
Omaha to decline the CBI. Their HC said, "We are appreciative of the interest shown in our program and the possibility of postseason play, but we have elected not to participate in tournament opportunities that offer no guarantee of matchups and require a significant financial investment to play." I have to believe that falling just short of an NCAA tourney bid leaves the team emotionally deflated and hard to get enthused about a pay-to-play tourney.

Omaha (21-11) finishes with an rpi of #125, in between Missouri & Miami (FL).

Marshall accepts a bid to host a CIT game on Tuesday March 19. The Herd will host the Jim Phelan Classic.

Still that's surprising with 20 wins to choose to stay home.

They run the athletic department on a very tight budget. You probably won't see them take any of the pay-to-play tournaments before they start offering full cost of attendance for their hockey team.
