"More than 76,000 migrants crossed the southern border illegally last month, the highest number in 12 years. So much for all those media “fact checks” arguing that there’s no emergency to justify President Trump’s wall.

Immigration officials say the number is only going to increase, creating what Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan warns is “a border security and a humanitarian crisis.”

Why are they coming in such vast numbers? Because smugglers have put them wise to how to take advantage of recent court decisions to claim asylum and remain here indefinitely.

They’re coming (mainly from Guatemala) in ever-larger groups, mostly families as opposed to individuals. They’ve been told that if they cross the border illegally, they only need cry “asylum.” And adults traveling with children have a better chance to stay.

Trump wants a wall to prevent that “one foot on American soil” rule. But what’s really needed is a change to our perverse asylum rules — which will take both political cooperation and compromise...."

Dems look at them as voters. They will do everything they can, even at the risk of danger for all Americans, to get them in the country. Dems could care less about law or those who are harmed by all the illegals. Party over country.

Don't forget that there are Republicans on the other side of Dems who also see a bigger source of labor to keep wage pressure on working class Americans. This is bipartisan. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

This is true for practically all political issues.

One glaring example: Republicans campaigned in 2016 on "Repeal and Replace ObamaCare". Maybe they thought they had no chance of winning the presidency so maybe they thought they wouldn't have to honor that campaign promise.

But Trump won. The GOP had both the House and Senate as well as the presidency.

Why do we still have ObamaCare?

I think the people who are actually on the border doing the difficult work of trying to maintain some degree of border integrity have had the same message regardless of who was in the white house. The occupant of said white house, and his staff, have translated that message to suit their political wants and needs.

The GOP needs to take a lesson from the Soc/Dems on how to get legislation passed.

Keep in mind even with a complete majority, the Dems still didn't have the votes to pass ObamaCare.

They had to lie to their last few fellow dems who objected because they didn't want to include abortion.

The dems lied and said abortion was NOT part of the legislation.


So, point is, you promised the voters and you gained the majority in the House & Senate. You have the presidency.

Since you promised us, how about take a page from the dem's playbook and lie to whatever politician you need to in order to get their vote. Manipulate them. Promise to vote for something of theirs.

Frankly, since politicians have the ingrained need to lie, I'd much rather them lie to each other than to me.
