What fans? It looked pretty empty to me.

Very obvious u were not at the game. Also remember students were on spring break. We had a great crowd

Yes, spring break was a factor, but the student seating is on the near side of the court, not behind the benches, which is what you see on TV. The seats behind the benches were between 1/4 and 1/3 full. My check of JMUSports.com earlier in the week game showed nearly ALL of those seats were sold, which tells me JMU's season ticket holders have given up on the team.

I'm sure that new arena will get more folks to come out...

The crowd was what it was: a legitimate 3800. College students were gone, but there were tons of elementary kids there as part of some reading promotion.

A nice crowd for the modern CAA. Nothing like Harrisonburg in the past.

We will not win the tournament, unless the FT situation takes a miraculous turn. I don't buy anymore that it's just a team bad streak/contagion. The misses are bad misses. We are not good enough to give away those points against Hofstra, Northeastern or Charleston and win.

Hope Chase gets relatively healthy this week. Jihar is not a viable answer in the rotation. Think moving LJ back off the point and having Thornton spell Luke is a better option.

With the exception of his senior day heroics, Paul has not been good. The law school story is worthy, but Tony's reservation to go that route has been validated to this point. This is it on your college basketball career, Paul. Time is running out to prove Tony's doubts wrong.

Agree on Jihar as not viable. Audige looked much better that expected in the warmups before the second half but need to limit his time with both the muscle issue and now ankle. Let us put Paul to the test, maybe Pierce sliding over to Audige position with Rowley playing 4 spot and use Harvey to play a couple of minutes for Nate and Blair for Rowley. We need to win 3 games over 3 days and avoid the burnout of few years ago when they did not have the gas to beat NE in the finals after the Hofstra OT win!

If he warmed up before the second half he should be good to go next Sunday. Also would have been in a boot if it was real bad.

GAME 30, JMU
Just watched the game on demand. Agree not a great showing overall, but this team is now in a position that we can win even when we don’t play our best basketball. Yes, it took JMU playing fairly poorly, but we could have beaten a few other CAA teams yesterday too. Additional observations:

- LJ can score more if we need him too. He had a 3 pointer that was in and then popped out, and also had a nice runner that just missed. If Chase is out (heaven forbid), LJ will need to be our 4th scorer. And we’ll need him in double digits in at least one of the 3 tournament games.

- Knight left a lot of points on the floor. Could have had 35 easily. Agree with Coach’s postgame comment that he looked tired. I imagine his body is feeling the Towson game. Those guys were rough on him. Hope we can beat Delaware with Knight playing less than 28 minutes. If that’s possible, then we go into the last 2 games and just pray he can muster up enough energy to lead us to the promised land.

- Pierce is all over the court. And when he’s engaged mentally, he never looks tired physically. Energizer bunny. We need him to show up big-time in Charleston.

- We missed Audige’s defense last night. Changed the tenor of the game at the top of the key.

- Loewe is so much improved from earlier in the year. He plays hard, smart basketball. Seems to be stepping up in leadership as well.

- Milon’s 3pt accuracy will either make us or break us in Charleston.

This happens regularly for LJ. I can remember 3-4 other games where the ball goes in the cylinder, hits the net, and then spins back out. I think it must have something to do with how the ball rotates on his shots -- because it happens so much more frequently for him than for anyone else.

I emailed them, but have not heard back from either one.

He shoots a flat shot with a weird side rotation. He needs to fix that.
