2020 Football Recruiting
Just picked up our first commit, Plae Wyatt, of Bishop Lynch in Dallas. Looks like he played at McKinney Boyd previously (must be a brutal commute if he’s commuting from McKinney to Bishop Lynch).

Good start to the next recruiting cycle. The coaches have been following him since we started looking at 2020 recruits so I’d guess he was a pretty high priority.

Now that he's committed to Rice, he'll drop to 2 stars

RE: 2020 Football Recruiting
Can we pin this thread? But more importantly, can the OP keep a current list of commits as they happen (or de-commit perhaps down the road since that's inevitable as well in today's college football world). Once these threads become 20-30 pages, it's impossible to keep track of the current commits (although At The Roost does a good job of that - 24/7 sports is useless).

Yes- I’ll continually edit my original post as we get more commits.
As to the pinning part... Hopefully a mod comes along.

The Roost tweeted a pic of a couple potential recruits (Courtney Brown and Warren Shankle) who braved the cold to attend practice today.

RE: 2020 Football Recruiting
Neither recruit appears to have an offer from us (and only Brown has a 247 profile-no offers, only interest from SMU), but nonetheless, good to see us hosting some guys from Shadow Creek. They had a great team last year.

Commit #2 is Memorial DT Braedon Nutter (6-3, 287), a 3-star recruit with lots of D1 offers (Colorado, Houston, Army, Tulsa, and most of the Ivies). He supposedly will play OL for the Owls.

These 2 commits are a great start to the class. This is another guy we’ve been on since early last year.
Think we just landed another. Don’t see anything yet. Maybe Brady Feeney.

Coach Bloom is super high on both of these guys. Though Nutter was ranked as the #5 DT in Texas last year, he'll play center on the OL his senior year and will likely be playing center for us. As for the kid from St.Louis, he played for Bloom at his final Summer camp at Stanford a couple years ago. Had offers from at least 5 P5 programs....and told Bloom on his last visit to St. Louis that the only school he'd even consider ahead of Rice would be Stanford, and at the time that included interest from Michigan.

But how's his fastball? Flat or no?

As a center, I hope his fastball is flat and fast. Quick, accurate snaps to the QB, punter, and holder are definitely desirable to the occasional adventures we've had in the recent past. In this case, I think a fastball in the zone is exactly what the doctor orders.
(And yes, I understand the jest in your post.)

RE: 2020 Football Recruiting
We've had 2 more commits in the last 2 or 3 days.
Kobie Campbell, 5-8 RB, Missouri City (Hightower)
Brian Hibbard, 6-0 FB/LB, Baton Rouge, LA (Catholic) - seems awfully strong and is a really good wrestler as well
We're up to 5 commits now
