Looking forward to North Texas and Marshall facing each other for the first time this season. Should be a good game tomorrow.

Upset in seeding only, Marshall took both series with the 2 seed LA Tech and 3 seed WKU this year. Marshall senior pitcher Abigail Tolbert stands 12 runners on base today.

A few things.

1. Marshall-NT was a heck of a game. Those kids battled through the final pitch.

2. UAB’s field is a full step above what it was when last I saw it. I said earlier in this thread that Marshall was similar. It was similar prior to the UAB renovation, which has been since 2014. UAB’s facility is top notch. I know FAU and UTEP are up there with it.

Do wish there was a little more space, so you wouldn’t have two teams (one playing, one warming up for the next game) both with people in the same bullpen in the middle of a game. But that’s only being slightly picky.

That wind this morning was hellacious. It robbed the Herd of 2 maybe 3 HRs that just died in the middle of the outfield. It also kept the ball up longer and probably robbed both teams of some good hits. But the wind just kept those balls in the air and they became easy fly outs.

Championship game: Tech vs Marshall

Way to go Herd! Should be a great game tomorrow.

It’s been a great tournament. The top 4 teams in this league were all similar caliber this season.

Whomever plays better tomorrow will win, as Marshall and La. Tech are 2-2 against each other, with 3 of those games coming down to the final inning.

Hopefully NT can land an at-large bid although it doesn’t look overly promising for them. They’ve had a heck of a season.

Rematch between #1 LA Tech and #4 Marshall tomorrow.

For a team that was predicted to finish 8th in the conference no matter what happens tomorrow I would say this was a pretty successful season. Marshall now 39-18 with 73 homeruns.

Agree. Based on that, I think coach smith deserves COTY.
