RE: MAC Football Schedule Released!!!
I'm liking seeing Kent come to Akron early in the year. Akron has played at Kent several times recently near the start of MAC play. I can't remember the last time Kent came to Akron for a game before November.
Edit: I went back and looked. It was 2007 when the Zips were still playing at the Rubber Bowl.

The better your team gets, the worse the MAC scheduling gets.

Yeah, they're alright I suppose. Gives me an excuse to have a few cold ones and watch some football on a weeknight.
Found out something pretty cool from the bobcatattack board. Apparently, this year's iteration of The Battle of the Bricks will be extra special this year. The game will be played on the 150th Anniversary of College Football.
Rutgers defeated Princeton on November 6th, 1869 with Rutgers winning 6-4 in front of a crowd of 100 spectators.
Quote:On Wednesday, November 6th the MAC will be the only collegiate conference playing a live college football game on the 150th anniversary, as the Miami RedHawks will travel to face the Ohio Bobcats in the 96th meeting between these MAC rivals. The Miami vs. Ohio rivalry is the longest in the MAC in terms of number of meetings as the ‘Battle of the Bricks’ began back in 1908.
MAC programs will also participate in the National College Football 150 uniform patch program for the 2019 season. The patches will be one color (silver metallic), 3.5 x 1.7 inches and will be placed on the right, front chest of the jersey above the MAC logo.

RE: MAC Football Schedule Released!!!
Miami's home schedule is perhaps the least interesting we've ever had, the downside of playing UC at Paul Brown Stadium last year is that we play at Nippert now so we have neither rivalry game at home. The flip side though is that next year we get them, OU, and Army at Yager.

IL State and NIU in a game I'll be watching... Should be interesting if it has the feel of a rivalry game.

I don't think there's any feel of it being a rivalry. We haven't played them in about 20 years. They've had some good football teams though. If our offense is like last year we could easily lose.

Ohio has its 3 toughest MAC games at home with NIU, WMU and Miami.
Miami has Ohio, NIU, WMU on the schedule but only 1 of 3 at home.
Sounds good to me.
