@Towson
Today is the day. Our fate will just about be sealed, one way or another. With our loss and Delaware's victory over Towson, the 4 seed is just about locked up for Delaware. We have a pseudo 1 game lead on Towson, a win here virtually locks up a top 6 finish unless Towson pulls an upset somewhere without us winning another game. Towson fought hard to get back into their Delaware game, forced OT after being down 6 with 17 seconds left. They lost in 2OT. With short rest I expect them to be tired or at least wear down in the 2nd half. They play a short bench so that will aid. This is a game where tempo should be our friend. Force them to tire down. Towson just is not that good, but they are physical. Slow Fobbs down and they virtually have no offense. So that is Cam/Troy's goal today. I think we get it done in a big way on the road.

They don't play a short bench. They have 9 players who have played in at least 23 of 26 games and average at least 15.6 minutes. They are one of two CAA teams having 9 players average at least 15 minutes. The other team is UNCW.

You're down 49-22. With 16:06 left, Demir, John, and Butler are your only players who made a field goal. The rest of your team has shot 0-for-17. Your only other scorer is Harper, who made 2 free throws, which is all of your attempts. Fobbs has scored 16. Towson has made over half of their threes and has only 5 fouls and 4 turnovers.

Edit: Wynter got his first points by making 2 free throws. Harper and Wynter each have 0 field goals, 3 fouls, and 3 turnovers.

Edit: You're down 49-24 and the media timeout with 15:50 left happened because of Harper's fourth foul.

RE: @Towson
You scored over three-quarters of your points in the second half. After having 19 at halftime, you lost 92-77. The first CAA game of the day produced three candidates for my Lineup of the Day. Tobias Howard scored 26 and Brian Fobbs scored 25, with both of them making over half of their field goals, over half of their threes, and 4 threes. Dennis Tunstall had only 5 rebounds two days after having 21. Nakye Sanders had the only double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Allen Betrand tied for Towson's lead with 3 assists, which was his career-high. He's a freshman who entered averaging exactly 0.5 assists. All three of your starting guards fouled out. John shot 4-for-8 without attempting a two or a free throw. I have to praise Demir, who managed to have a +/- of +2 while playing 30 minutes of a loss by 15. You were -17 in 10 minutes when he didn't play. He scored 17 and shot well, albeit with 5 rebounds and 1 assist both below his average. He avoided mistakes with 1 foul and no turnovers. Wynter had 13 points and 8 assists, but shot 3-for-11. He passed Hofstra's Desure Buie for second in the CAA in assists. If Buie has 7 or fewer assists, the day will end with the top two in assists both being freshmen. In the last 13 complete seasons, Kory Holden is the only freshman to finish first or second in assists.

This was a disaster from the opening tip. 2 Towson players had career highs. Season on the line and we throw this dud up. We are likely locked in as the 7 seed now unless we pull an upset at home plus beat delaware, even then with being back 2 games essentially we may need help. Brutal.

Chaps has good sandwiches. I recommend the DDD.

Otherwise nothing good to say. I posted this morning we made progress. What I saw today was what I expected all season. Either we are severely lacking in talent which can be fixed through recruiting or Spiker is in over his head. I still believe it’s the former but then again any coach might be in over their head with this program.

You want to see guys developing strengths and things they do well. I saw a team today that couldn’t have beaten Messiah from a size/skill perspective and seemed to have no idea what they were doing. We were soft on both ends but especially on defense. Our idea of a trap is getting within 5 feet of a guy and letting him pass out of it to a wide open man.

It’s possible Troy Harper is a cancer that is slowly killing this team and undermines everything Coach Spiker is trying to do. In that case Spiker should tell him to get lost. He is about to hit the real world. Spiker might be the last chance to give him an attitude adjustment. The refs are trying to straighten him out by not buying into all his theatrics. They would do us a favor by fouling him out in the first 5 minutes.
