An interesting topic was brought up on ASOR. What if there was a preseason basketball tourny started for “truely” faith based schools? Who would be invited?

1. Liberrty (22-5)
2. Notre Dame (13-11)
3. BYU (17-10)
4. Oral Roberts (10-18)
5. Houston Baptist (8-14)
6. Cal Baptist (13-10)
7. Grand Canyon (14-10)
8. Abilene Christian (20-5)

Would there be any others that actually practiced what is stated in their name?
Of course four of those teams share the same conferences, so two other teams would need to be found.

You could make strong statements for the following:

• Baylor
  Belmont
  Boston College
  Gonzaga
  Mercer
  Samford
  Pepperdine
  TCU

Schools like SMU, Miami (FL) and pretty much all of the Big East could make claims.

I think it makes it more fun when we just go with Evangelical schools.

I’m pretty confident their is nothing Christian about TCU other than name only. I also had a close friend who graduated from Belmont and said that school has long since left its Christian roots. My impression is that most Catholic schools are basically secular as well.
