You aint kidding Proff. It was still a gutsy performance by our team though. We couldn't go out and get swept here so we needed 1 win. To win the series would be terrific. And, it's not like we don't have enough talent either. We should be able to compete with Elon or any CAA team. Yes, their starting pitching is great, but I like our overall offense. Need to win another one in the next 2 days.

Elon ties it up off of Blake Morgan. They're still batting in the bottom of the 9th, with 2 on and 1 out. Gorham just came in to replace Morgan.

Headed to extras, tied 1-1.

Currently here's how the tiebreaker plays out amongst the 4 teams in 3rd place, with their W-L record against the other 3 teams:

1. W&M 5-4 (tiebreaker over NU by virtue of 3-0 record vs. Charleston)
2. NU 5-4
3. JMU 3-3
4. UNCW 2-4

So if the season ended today, we'd be in 6th, and would face W&M in the first round.

That all could get flipped on its head next weekend, as we host JMU, the other team we're tied with who we have yet to face.

Elon's regular season ended today, so they just wait for the CAA Tournament.

JMU faces Maryland tomorrow (Tuesday) night prior to their crucial 3-game series with us. Odd timing for a midweek contest for JMU given the Thursday start for this series. That might be a long game for them considering they'll want to save their pitching staff for Thursday.
