RE: MBB FEBRUARY GAMES
The battle for the 3rd and 4th seeds are going to be fun.... The spoiler battle for a home or away game around the EMU, Miami line will be great too.
If you protect home court and finish with double digit win totals will put you in good shape.

everything is still up for grabs. if UT beats Akron at home Tuesday at BG next saturday there is a 3 way battle for 1st/2nd/3rd. If Akron wins at Toledo they sneak into the picture. Still think Buffalo is the best team but the top 8 or 9 spots in the league are very much to be determined

RE: MBB FEBRUARY GAMES
Akron still hasn't even played a game against BG, Buffalo, or Kent. It's going to be a tough stretch, but I'm looking forward to it.

They are a much better team than 3-7, but Akron's schedule is not humane. If they can finish .500 or greater for MAC play, they will be a force to be reckoned with. I get a win total of 8.3 for Akron based on the following win percentages rest of the year:

@ Toledo 12%
Kent State 48%
Buffalo 9%
@ Ball State 29%
@ BGSU 24%
Miami 64%
@ Buffalo 2%
Ohio 71%
BGSU 50%
@ Kent State 22%

On average that would be about 3.3 more wins. Two basic coin flip home games for Akron with BGSU and Kent State that will go a long way to determine if they can have a winning record in conference play. Have to protect the home court with that schedule. I do have Akron ranked out a little lower than most, so I admit my percentages might not be doing Akron justice at this point. I really am impressed how they have been able to gel all the new transfers this year into a good season.

Yes, I'm just not buying those percentages. I don't feel Akron is a 10 point underdog @Toledo, a 10.5 point underdog at home vs Buffalo, 5.5 point underdog @ 2-7 Ball St, or a 7.5 point underdog @Kent. I also think Akron should be slight favorites at home against Kent and BGSU. Also, with the way Ball St. is playing (losses in 6 out of last 7 games, winless at home in MAC play), Akron would be a Vegas favorite if that game was played tomorrow. Akron has a tough remaining schedule, no doubt. I think Akron will finish 5-5

Toledo is 9-1 at home this season and won like 9 of the last 10 against the Zips. I buy 10.

I buy Toledo being favored and winning. I just feel it will be less than 10. I currently see the game line as Toledo favored by 8 which means Vegas thinks Akron has a 22% chance of winning. That sounds more accurate to me. We'll see tomorrow.

Edit:Also, Akron for whatever it's worth Akron is 4-6 in the last 10 match-ups against Toledo. I'm not exactly sure how that's at all relevant to this years game since those match-ups involved completely different players.

Yeah I do have Akron maybe artificially low, I come up with a 12.5 point Toledo spread in that game.

Toledo vs Akron
2018: 67-65 UT
2018: 77-56 UT
2017: 65-71 UA
2016: 78-64 UT
2015: 84-67 UT
2015: 68-66 UT
2014: 75-61 UT

Before that run Akron had our number. But the point remains the same, recently Toledo has dominated.

Once again, how is that relevant to tomorrows game? 4 out of Akrons top 6 minutes earners this year were either not on the team last year or had to sit out due to transfer. Groce wasn't even the Zips coach for the other 5 games.

It may not matter.... but for BSU vs Toledo it matters. They own us recently for no reason. It's a confidence thing. Our team hasnt had much turnover at all. So we are used to beating Akron. Every team has teams they enjoy playing.... That's just how it goes.

Akron and Toledo will be interesting. Probably 2nd best defensive team in conf vs 2nd best offensive team

Toledo shot poor but Akron shot worse. Ugliest game in a while. Rockets, Falcons and Flashes all win and keep climbing NET. Pressure on 5th seed.

Akron looked like they had something going after the half as they used their athleticism to get out and run. Toledo got hot shooting mid-way through 2nd half which forced Akron back to playing a half-court offense. I don't think there is a team with a worse half court offense than Akron.

Well, Cheese got out and ran but Cheese stands alone. There was no secondary threat and UA’s little guy fell in love with his three early buckets then made a slew of bad decisions and really tanked. Ivy and Udomi were surprisingly bad as were Toledo’s starters until about the last eight minutes. But UT did beat that ten point spread.

In a game of runs... NIU ties it with 3.3 seconds then fouls intentionally and Persons splits for the win... Wow. Dumb dumb dumb.
