Yeah, that's sheer lunacy.

This. He has absolutely no shot at the NBA. None.

Like I said, I know I'm in the minority 04-cheers

I've always liked his game.

An NBA point guard these days needs to hit spot-up threes, play defense, and avoid turnovers when bringing the ball up. Jennifer does all of those really well now at the college level. His height will make it hard for him to play defense at the NBA level. But his ballhandling and decision making are truly elite, and he can hit threes better than Clark or Evans ever have.

you thinking late first round?

No. I'm not completely stoned. 1st rounders are picked based on their upside potential. Like Lonzo Ball.

But if I'm picking a team to win in 2019, I'd rather have JJ than Ball as my backup point guard. They're both good ballhandlers. JJ plays smart, knows his role, and can hit an open 3. Ball is one of the worst outside shooters in the NBA, and he only did well in college because he posed a matchup problem. One day Ball might become like Rajan Rondo and be able to take over games, but JJ would help you win more games in 2019.

He doesn't have the amount of quickness at his size to play in the nba. He can play overseas though i believe.

Caupain was a 6'4 point guard who was 21 when he graduated and had been a three year starter and multiple time all conference player. Caupain I believe is within days of being the exact same age as JJ.

so?
So he was probably a better prospect than you gave him credit for. Still flawed and by no means a sure fire prospect but he had some upside.

So the big question - does Cumberland leave after this year for the NBA? Thoughts?

I think your underselling what an NBA PG (even a backup) needs to be able to do and overvaluing JJ's ability to guard people with NBA size and quickness.

Selfishly I'd like him back because UC would have a really good team next year, and he'd be a legit NPOY candidate. But he's ready and someone is going to take him you'd have to think he's going to go.

Cumberland leads the Bearcats to a National Championship and exits stage right.

Probably. But a man can dream.

This team is really balanced. I really like Cumberland as The Man, with Williams as #2, Jennifer dishing and shooting spot-up 3s, and Scott cleaning up the garbage.

I'm hoping we can keep Cumberland one more year and Williams really steps up to his potential next year(not unlike Evans). I think we could be really good next season.
