Odds to win the CFP national championship next year...

Using these odds would seem to predict...

ACC Champ = Clemson
Big Ten Champ = Ohio State
Big XII Champ = Texas
Pac-12 Champ = Oregon
SEC Champ = Alabama

Projected playoff match-ups of

Clemson vs. Texas (Peach Bowl)
Alabama vs. Georgia (Fiesta Bowl, and presumably a rematch of the SEC title game, effectively rendering the SEC title game useless - would be especially hilarious if this ended up being the Peach Bowl, meaning they'd even play again in the same stadium!)

Oh, and the G5 NY6 bid seems to favor the winner of UCF/Memphis (again), seemingly setting up the other NY6 bowls as follows:

Rose Bowl = Oregon vs. Ohio State
Sugar Bowl = Oklahoma vs. Florida
Orange Bowl = Notre Dame vs. Michigan
Cotton Bowl = UCF/Memphis vs. Texas A&M/LSU

UCF at 200-1 and Boise at 300-1 are better than half the P5.

G5s Cincinnati, Houston, & Fresno (all 500-1) have better odds than Colorado, Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville,Maryland, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Pitt, Rutgers, Virginia, and Wake Forest.

I'm shocked to see so many 2018 bowl teams on that list. Pitt & Duke & Georgia Tech have worse odds than UNC & Virginia Tech? Kentucky was #12 this year!

FWIW, if you're betting: In the 21 seasons since the start of the BCS format, 14 times the eventual champ was in the AP preseason top 5, and in every one of those 21 seasons the eventual champ was in the AP preseason top 25. The 2010 Auburn team with Cam Newton (preseason #22) was the only one of those champs that started outside the preseason top 20.

The Orange Bowl can't include Michigan and ND. It would have to be an ACC school vs. ND, likely FSU, Miami, or Syracuse going by the odds.

My mistake - I thought the Orange Bowl was ACC OR Notre Dame, not vs. That would seem to pit Miami or FSU (Syracuse is a longer shot per those odds than Va. Tech, but all of those are pretty ugly choices - such is the state of the ACC right now...) against, I'm guessing, Michigan (based only on odds). Notre Dame at 40:1 still sits behind TAMU/LSU, though their national appeal might get them in the discussion.
