Great memories from 1983-84 through 86-87, even though the teams weren't great. On weekends, I'd go to the games with friends and we made sure we were among the first in line so we could get the bleacher seats under the basket.

Think I missed one home game in four years. Those were the last two years of Campanelli and the two full years of Thurston.

There's no excuse for what the program has become.

I'll add that even though those four seasons weren't stellar, we were competitive and exciting to watch. We discussed this some time ago, but there was a game that West Virginia visited that had us down 10 with 8 seconds remaining, we tied it to send the game to OT then won 72 - 70.

At JMU in Feb 1988, winter of my freshman year. What a game.

As a former player, it is very depressing. Very. So tired of the state of our program I have lost all interest. Never thought that could happen.
