RE: JMU
Demir questionable to return. He is on a bike trying to loosen up. With Doles having 3, this could be problematic.
A side note, how come when come out from half, our sideline reporter interviews an assistant and its never Spiker?

We have had a couple bad turnovers to start the half. We look sloppy again.

And Demir returned after that timeout, so that is a good sign.

RE: JMU
Timeout and also the U12 timeout we lead 51-45
Butler has shown up well after his brutal start to the game. He is grabbing rebounds and having a presence under the basket. Harper is still forcing too much which causes turnovers, but he is scoring nicely for us this game.

Wynter on a nice run here. U4 timeout and we lead 65-53. Good energy and easy baskets with good passes and smart shot selection. JMU just isnt good.

RE: JMU
After the brief time appearance from Demir he exited and has stayed out. We will need him healthy for success. Definitely a promising game to be in control without Lee or Demir.

RE: JMU
Final. Drexel 73, JMU 68
Always nice to win in front of a big crowd and on homecoming. The boys took care of business winning both games. That gets us to 4-4. That is a good place to be at this point and with the schedule we have played.
The negative is Trevor misses his first FT of the season. The "block" at the end by Harper was impressive. There was really reason for him to go for a block up 10 but hard effort plays like that can really pump up the team and the crowd. Always nice to see Harp give his full effort and energy. Also a bunch of garbage points late for JMU to make this that close

RE: JMU
All in all a successful weekend for our Dragons! Nice to win at home, sounded like we had a sizable DAC Pack so hopefully the experience and the win keeps them coming back! If any every weekend was Homecoming weekend.

RE: JMU
Great play by play throughout, dan10. When Drexel was down by 15, most fans who know this team were confident that they would come back. Harper and Wynter really compliment each other well, and the two really took this team on their backs and carried them to victory. After a tough start, Butler really turned it on and got some big rebounds. He and Doles really stepped it up with Demir out for most of the game. I didn't see Demir get hurt and didn't notice he was missing, but he was riding the bicycle next to the bench for the entire second half, I guess to keep his bones loose they needed him to return. Hopefully his injury is minor and he'll be ready for Delaware. This team can't afford anymore injuries.
The atmosphere was electric today, and the best crowd of the year at the DAC. Attendance was listed at 2,119. Even though the capacity of the DAC is listed at 2,509, I've counted and I know that there are not nearly that many seats. While they might have been able to squeeze a few more in, it was basically a sellout.
And as an FYI, the reason why there were so many empty seats behind the scorers table is because people in the Presidents Suite and Hazam suite are required to have chairback tickets. I know a bunch of people who have tickets in that section but never sit there. So at this point, there will always be empty seats in that section. Also, there were barely any JMU fans there because their team is so bad. They have a great fan base that travels will when their team is winning. Not this year.

That, right there, is the biggest negative to these two spots in the DAC. I just wish we could get more people out into the seats. I can't stay in the Blue & Gold room even though I pay for my season tickets, why congregate in the suites for so long?

If Drexel could sell more season tickets and fill up the seats with more standard ticket holders, then I could see them making a change so that suite guests don't need actual tickets, to get more fans into the DAC. But I think that for now, they just want to get the seats sold.

RE: JMU
The problem with folks staying in the suites, is the fact those are the seats seen by cameras. The rest of the gym really isnt seen. So seeing an empty visitor paired with a relatively empty season ticket section behind the scorers tables, just looks bad for perception. Even if it is a sellout or near sellout seeing that many vacant seats, just looks bad to the few people watching the games. Suite tickets should be different from regular tickets. I am ok with allowing season ticket holder in the suites at halftime, after the game etc. But during the run of the game that should not be the case. I agree if tickets were sold out that is an easier sell/change to make, without frequent sellouts, thats a really tough sell

People prefer to be in the suites. If they're going to invite people into the suites, they're not going to force people to leave and comeback at halftime. One of the great things about the DAC's setup is the large suite space that allows fans to mingle in a social space while still being about to pay attention to the game. Not everybody is a diehard sports fan, and people will come to watch Drexel Basketball for the social aspect.

RE: JMU
I have 0 issues with it being a social gathering. Thats what sports do. I am with Medik on what he alluded to which is suites and chairbacks should be separate not covered under the same ticket. Thats all
