I have added a new mobile site interface. You should see it automatically when viewing the site mobile. It will, for now, override all team skin specific looks.

Hopefully this will make life considerably easier while waiting on a fix from TapaTalk.

I see the "Mobile Menu"...

I don't see how this makes the message board any easier to use?

Short answer... It doesn't. Without a better mobile interface or Tapatalk support, I'm afraid csnbbs is going the way of the dodo. Hopefully the update without a rollout date happens before that happens.

I'm considering replacing the existing navigation with the mobile style one site wide. That does solve all the problems but requires a redo on all team skins.

Just don't screw it up for reading it on your PC at your desk.

You don't find using that nav way better on a mobile device than the stock nav in a browser?

The nav bar is fine for navigating to other areas on csnbbs. I don't toggle between different boards. I pretty much only use the William and Mary board. My gripe is navigating between topics and reading/writing new topics and threads over a mobile device. This is what I, and many on here do 90% of the time. It works great for desktop. But that same interface is awkward and hard to navigate via mobile. Trying to precisely press a button with my fat fingers without zooming in only to accidently go to another link happens often and is frustrating. Is there some navigation/reading feature for mobile that I'm not aware of?

What in specific don't you like about it? Too much scrolling? Text too small? Be anal retentive and detailed. I usually use the breadcrumbs ( CSNbbs / Active Boards / CAAbbs / CAA Conference Talk / William & Mary / Mobile Site Menu / Post Reply ) to navigate on mobile if I'm not using TapaTalk.

Yes, text is too small. Difficult to click newest post. Hard to navigate without really zooming in. An example of a board that works well natively in both desktop and mobile is Ars Technica. Easy to read and easy to navigate.

RE: Mobile Site Menu
And to be even more specific...

1. Last read icon is impossibly tiny
2. Getting to the reply button can be awkward
3. You have to zoom in to read text and then zoom out to scroll.
4. When writing a message as I am now, you have to zoom to see your text to a point that the text scrolls out of your text box entry
5. Navigating to a specific page in a thread is near impossible
6. Navigating to the next page is difficult

Simply put, there is no mobile native functionality for actually reading the message board. It is a site designed for desktop that does not translate well, at all, for mobile use. To the point that, as stated earlier by many, I come to this board dramatically less because of it. I’d be surprised if your usage stats don’t reflect this.
