Democratic leaders reacted with fury and demanded an investigation late Thursday following a new report that President Trump personally directed his former attorney, Michael Cohen, to lie to Congress about the president’s push for a lucrative condo project in Moscow in the lead-up to the 2016 election.

The Thursday night report from BuzzFeed News cites two unnamed federal law enforcement officials who say Cohen acknowledged in interviews with the office of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III that the president directed him to deceive Congress about key facts linking Trump to the proposed deal in Russia. Cohen pleaded guilty in November to lying under oath about those details.

Democrats said that if the report is accurate, Trump must quickly be held to account for his role in the perjury, with some raising the specter of impeachment.

Immediate thought is Cohen is a liar so big deal right?

Yep, that is going to be one of the things that send Donald Trump to prison. Mueller busted Cohen for lying about it because he had physical evidence, per the reporting

Physical evidence + Witness corroboration = Conviction.

This is not surprising from Trump. But it is a bona fide BOMBSHELL of a story regardless.

So let me make sure I have this straight ................

Cohen lied to Congress and Mueller caught him in a lie somewhere or another. Mueller charged him with the crime of lying under oath - correct so far?

As we are coming up to Cohen getting sentencing for his lying, he is hoping to be a good boy and get a reduced sentence by showing he is fully cooperating with Mueller - right?

Now, if I understand you (and them) correctly ... Cohen is telling Mueller ..... Donald Trump made me lie!!! I couldn't help it!!! He made me do it!!!

I would have to question that myself by asking .... Exactly how did he force you to lie to us Mr. Cohen? Did he say pretty please? Did he go so far as to say, "with a cherry on top"? Well, if he did then we really have him this time.

"The special counsel's office learned about Trump's directive for Cohen to lie to Congress through interviews with multiple witnesses from the Trump Organization and internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents."

If there is actual hard evidence like the above says, then Trump has committed a felony. We will see if the evidence actually comes out when the report is done.

Barr has made it clear that he will be the one writing the final report. This might be where the Jonathon Karl stuff is coming from. It’s going to be anti climatic. This Barr nomination has me nervous from a truth is going to come out perspective.

Cohen has no credibility...period.

if there is proof that DJT instructed cohen to lie to congress, there won't be one person here that will refuse to denounce...if this proves to be fact, pick me as the first Trump supporter to call him a damned dumbarse ....

all I see in this story is another blatant attempt from the msm to stir the pot....no proof, anonymous sources, etc....

What should be the punishment if it is proven that Trump directed Cohen to lie. Not just Cohen’s account. Hard evidence.

How is this donald trumps problem? Cohen is an attorney. If he lied that is on him. If he did "order" him.
