All because a couple of pundits told him to do it.

The Dems aren't playing that game. You have to give up something (and not something you took away simply to use it as a negotiating tool) in order to get something.
You're not very good at this.
Good news is that Pelosi is VERY good at this. Enjoy.
Not a good look to make this statement on the day Trump made her look like the fool she is
Pelosi is owning the narrative. And that matters far more than Trump going to petty-land.
Do you really think this is going to help Trump get out of his self created mess?
The fact is the same today, as it was this morning.
Trump isn't going to do the SOTU in front of the House, Trump has still taken credit for the shutdown, Pelosi isn't giving Trump his wall, no Democrat in either the House or Senate has broken with her. Meanwhile at least 12 House GOP members and 2 Senators have broken with Trump publicly.
Its not our side that is breaking on this issue, but yours.
Hey, and since Pelosi isn't in Afghanistan, she can schedule more votes boxing in GOP Congressmen on reopening votes.
Good luck when our entire commercial travel system collapses sometime next week.
All because Trump decided to tie our government funding to House funding for a wall (which he didn't do when the GOP controlled the house) and because McConnell wont even schedule a vote on reopening the government (which would pass). Trump claimed credit for the shutdown.
Trump set this all off, because he couldn't take any criticism from Ann Coulter. And he won't back down, because he doesn't do that. But Trump's inability to concede, compromise, or backtrack doesn't change the fact that Nancy Pelosi is the duly elected House Speaker and SHE has something to say about funding. She's not going to be bullied. Trump didn't need the funding before, he doesn't need it now.
The way this ends is that McConnell and Trump reopen the government with no wall funding.
5.7 B in wall funding might be approved, but only with a path to citizenship for DREAMERS, no reduction in legal immigration quotas, an end to any impediments to asylum claims at legal ports of entry, greater oversight of ICE/CBP, a dramatic increase in immigration judges AND legal aid for those making claims, and end to Trump's child separation policy, etc.
