Never fight a war that you don't intend to win, and never, never, never, never fight a war that you don't want either side to win. When your enemies are committing hari-kari, don't stop them. Here we have two enemies killing each other. Do what we can to protect the Kurds, the one group that we have truly screwed in this, and otherwise GTFO and stay TFO.

I guess the Nazis were never defeated either since anyone who is not a progressive is a Nazi.

At least progressives share a collectivist/redistributionist economic philosophy with commies--and socialists and fascists, for that matter. That's certainly a closer tie than anything that conservatives--or at least libertarian conservatives--share with Nazis.
