Nancy Pelosi uninvites trump from the State of the Union until the shutdown is over
Kudos to Nancy for looking out for the safety of our president!
Yes, definitely kudos to her for looking out for the safety of our president!
Now, if only she and the Dems would also look out for the safety of the American people.
Nice try...but trump owns the shut down. He owns the CG not being paid and the security issues at our airports that are only going to get worse.
They all are responsible.
^^^^^^THIS^^^^^
But right now---only one side is willing to talk.
Exactly.
And maybe the Democrats are counting on the Republican senators caving, but McConnell seems in no mood to. The reality is that EVERYBODY pretty much knows what the deal is-Trump gets most of his money, Dreamers are dealt with and maybe a little extra thrown in for some Democratic priority. Its just time for people to do it.

RE: Pelosi Uninvites trump from SOTU Address
The Republican senators will start to cave...and soon. The economy is starting to feel the effects. The only thing really that the many Republicans who will be up for re-election in blue areas have is the economy and they know it. And this won't be like the mid-terms where R's picked up seats in already red areas. The longer this goes on, the more likely it is for the Dems to take back the senate in 2020.
Rick Wilson nails it beautifully here:
Quote:Unlike the class of senators who ran in 2018, when the GOP managed -- quel miracle! -- to gain seats in deep-red states like North Dakota, Missouri, and Indiana, the 2020 landscape for GOP incumbent senators includes many in battleground states -- and in a presidential year.
Like all incumbents, the Republicans up for re-election in 2020 don't want to meet the same fate 40 of their colleagues in the House experienced last year. They'd like to go into a re-election year with a strong economy and the sense that Washington is at least vaguely trying to do something more productive than engaging in political arson. For now, however, McConnell seems to be following then-House Speaker Paul Ryan's strategy of 2018: Tie the GOP to the mast, and stick with Trump at all costs. His caucus is nervous, and rightly so.

There was nothing in my post whatsoever that implied how I felt about my side (liberals) or the country, I merely stated my opinion on how the shutdown might end.
Additionally, I'm all for term limits.
Lastly, I see EWE're still pretty much useless.

Nobody will remember this shutdown come November 2020. Everybody said the shutdown of 2010 was going to kill the Republicans and it happened less than a year prior to the election. The Republicans took over both branches of Congress during that election. That was the Tea Party election.

the economy is humming due to DJT policies whereas the '20 election posit is mere political rhetoric....nanny nan is doing just fine wrecking the dems chances to retain in '20....
I'll stick with the "mast" and continue to hold on vs. hoping the donks producing anything effective....
