Yeah but they all flamed out. Kane was a Jones recruit just to get that out there.
Chris Thomas- 4 star borderline 5 star, never could get his head in the game, played with his head down most of the time just looking to score and not pass, kept him from getting min.
Jamir Hanner- Only a 2 star recruit but the kid scored 2731 points in HS. He avg 31.2 points in HS. Under Herrion he couldn't play his game and transferred because of it, sad part is he was dismissed from Buffalo before ever playing a game there.
Dennis Tinnon/Robert Goff- Putting these two together because they could have been soooo much more with the right coach. Both big men that could have played for anyone in CUSA at the time. Goff was underutilized and Tinnon played out of position his SR year.
Kareem Canty- Probably the 3rd or 4th most insanely gifted player Ive ever seen in my lifetime at Marshall. Only behind Skip Henderson, John Taft and maybe Tom Curry (Curry was a McDs All-American). But never had his head on straight and I never got the feeling that he wanted to be there.
But Herrion had his duds also in JP Kambola, Devince Boynkins, DD Scarver and Elijah Pittman. Thankfully Ryan Taylor and at the time walk on Austin Loop only had to play 1 year under Herrion.
Talking about Austin Loop, 2 years ago he broke a 22 year old record at Marshall with 293 3s made. Now 2 years later Jon Elmore is 6 3s away from tying that mark and 7 away from breaking it.
