I am starting to believe WKUs issue is fatigue down the stretch. Marshall won fairly comfortably tonight and FAU played very well. It is nice to see us win against others A games. 15 steals tonight and 21 turnovers forced by Marshall. Playing very well together. Looking forward to Saturday night and solidifying being all alone in 1st place

Look, before the season, Bye was looking like a team that could compete for a spot in Pod 1. We had no way to know that they wouldn't live up to expectations. And honestly, with all the parity in conference play so far, I think Bye is good enough to split their squad and play our best two teams in Round 1 of the CUSA Tournament. Dont knock us for playing these guys. They may still have something special in them yet!

Seems like it’s been a long time. 3-2 in conference now. 2 of those wins we honestly should have lost, the other we had to set a record for biggest comeback in school history. The 2 losses were certainly winnable. We could just as easily be 5-0 or 0-5 in conference.

Good game Tech. Great nail biter at the end.

You’ve got USM coming there Saturday so pretty sure you’ll get your wish. We only average one road CUSA win a season and we got that last night at Charlotte so bet the house on ODU to win this one.

Its not fatigue, last year pretty much only played 7 guys......Pretty clear our guys are all about themselves this season, zero pride in playing for name on front of jersey....Not 1 min. after game last night we have a few players retweeting highlights of individuals dunks they had in game...That tells you where the mind set is, WKU is done this year, not going anywhere...

Yeesh, that's a tough loss. FIU is a good team. WKU is in great danger of not getting into the first pod.

I am not sure FIU is a good team, their schedule is not that impressive. We had one common opponent at Arkansas...We won and they lost by 30, tells you all you need to know....Our players have flat out quit and all they care about is individual play...First pod? 03-lmfao03-lmfao......We will be lucky to in 3rd pod, WKU is what we are after 17 games a very average up and down team that will finish 15-15 or 16-15, not going anywhere...

But he done what every SEC coach does, loaded up on home buy games. In SEC play he was only 122-102. Most years he would either go 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7. His best ever in conference was 03-04 at 14-2.

For years it seemed like he would always just do enough not to get fired.

Miss. St has done nothing since he left, its a tough place to win so even have a SEC wining record at a football school is not bad....He looked like a genius last year. Coaches still have to have players who care, we have guys who do not care about the team and we have to be the worst passing team in America hands down....I am not ready to throw in towel on Stansbury, but I am ready to throw in towel on this team this year....WKU needs to scrap the "100 year celebration" for athletic calendar this year, its been nothing but a curse....

If it’s fatigue, that’s on our players. It hasn’t been an issue in the past, and WKU’s S/C guy for basketball is really good. Just too much stuff going on in the locker room right now. We as fans see it. Selfishness? Too young? Too immature? We see it all. So do the coaches I’m sure.

Fatigue is about Number 13 on the issues with this team, WKU fans know fatigue is not the issue....

If that’s the case, then your coach had better start cutting the cancer(s) out. Doc didn’t see it until it was too late with our 2016 team and you saw the result: The worst Marshall football team since 1983.

No offense guys, but if your coach KNOWS all this exists and does nothing about it (as it looks like he’s doing), then THAT is a coaching issue. He’s a moron.

FAU is gonna be tough down the stretch and certainly will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. I still think WKU may have the most talent of any team in the league but they aren't playing as a team and you can't win playing undisciplined basketball and on talent only. Stansbury has to coach them up at some point - if he can.

WKU lost an enormous amount from last year:J Johnson, Thompson and Coleby. 3 seniors and a couple of them being 5th year P5 transfers. I thought JJ was maybe the second best player in the league behind Elmore. Either he or King from MTSU. Because of that I was surprised they were favored and ranked so high going into the year. This 4 & 5* stuff is just somebodies opinion. No guarantee it translates into production. I still think WKU will be a beast at end of year, but to me what they are going through is a natural learning curve with so many young players. Talented, but still young.

ODU is a solid STAY AWAY in all betting circumstances. We haven't covered/won from a betting perspective in the last 5 games. We have just not been the same since Godwin got hurt. Like others have said, ODU could be any combination of 5-0 or 0-5 right now. Our conference games have been decided by 3, 3, 7, 1, and 1 points.

This is not the same team that beat Syracuse a month ago. We have a lot of work to do. At least it looks like there isn't anyone running away with the conference just yet - so this could be anyone's year. Pretty exciting to think about if you look beyond how ugly we all are.

Young can only be an excuse so far, losing on road is one thing, being up 16 at home in second half is another thing....Bassey and Banton would normally be high school senriors right now, so youth can be thrown out as an excuse, but at this point you have to grow up by now....A lot of young teams have success this day and age...

Johnson seemed to be the heart of your team while he was there. He was tough, gritty, talented and passionate. And surprisingly athletic if you just looked at his frame.

That beating he put on us last year in BG after he proposed to his girlfriend was a spectacle and it got everyone else going too. Hell after about 10 minutes I started rooting for the guy.

I think WKU is missing that on court leadership more than anything.

Yes and Thompson at PG was a coaches son....THompson also did a lot for team last season.....We see now TH is not ready to be a leader without those two guys...In back of my mind this was always a concern this season but I thought by the time conference season rolled around our young guys would grow up and talent would lead to a lot of success....

WKU definitely confused me in the WKU/Marshall game. It seems obvious that Hollingsworth is their best player, but he didn’t touch the ball during crunch time in a one possession game. At the end of the game they kept forcing the ball to Bassey even though it was resulting in a turnover or bad shot.

Up until a few years ago you could replace this statement with Auburn. Then they hired Bruce Pearl. Its the difference of having a poor to mediocre floor coach to a coach that knows how to actually coach, manage a game and run practice.

Under Tom Herrion Marshall had the #1 recruiting class in basketball 3 of the 4 years he was here. But in 4 years he went 67-67 and 24-31 his last 2 years.

Under Dan D'Antoni Marshall has been no where near the top of the basketball recruiting class but in that same time frame Marshall was 74-63 and he has topped his win total every year 11, 17, 20, 25, been to the title game twice with one championship a trip to the NCAA with a 1st round win.

I will take a good floor coach over an ace recruiter any day.

This is the problem I see with WKU. Stansburry recruited some highly talented guys but without Justin Johnson, Dwight Coleby and Darius Thompson you have a collection of players with no upper class leadership. You also have a few players out there either just trying to get by our out to get their own.
