I’d like to see ODU play a full 40 minutes of good basketball again. Seems like it’s been a long time. 3-2 in conference now. 2 of those wins we honestly should have lost, the other we had to set a record for biggest comeback in school history. The 2 losses were certainly winnable. We could just as easily be 5-0 or 0-5 in conference.

I watched a few minutes after ODU finished and turned it off with under 6 to go thinking the game was well in hand. Congrats on the win. Hopefully you guys can start to pull some fans back. MT attendance had gotten pretty good the last few years. It’s been pretty ugly this season. Fans need some hope there’s at least a chance to win.

I know we’re not good. But we’ve been competitive in every conference game save WKU with half a roster. The future is bright.

I was more clam tonight in quite a while. I was pretty sure once we got up by 16 that FIU would come back and win, not that surprised. I don't think either team is all that good quite honestly.
FIU had the advantage in experience with quite a few juniors and seniors and it showed but they were flat out destroyed in Fayetteville by a below average Arkansas team. I will be surprised if WKU is .500 at best in the league.
Both teams were awful at the line. Looking for a long season in BG this winter. We make games interesting for sure but just can't hang onto a lead.

I tried to warn WKU fans that Standburry was an avg floor coach at best. Sure he had a 293-165 mark at Miss. State. But he done what every SEC coach does, loaded up on home buy games. In SEC play he was only 122-102. Most years he would either go 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7. His best ever in conference was 03-04 at 14-2.

For years it seemed like he would always just do enough not to get fired.

Yeesh, that's a tough loss. FIU is a good team. WKU is in great danger of not getting into the first pod.

Agreed. Feel the same. The pain of this loss can not be overstated. So unnecessary. Hanging on by a thread now. We are a bad team. Underachieving doesn't cover it.

Actually curious to see if pods move the conference up from 14th a bit or not. No real OOC left to do that so we should see how effective they are if we get any movement in rankings.

I see in order to shore up their SoS, UNT schedule bye for Thursday night. How do UNT fans feel they did against the Bye?

I think that right now there are too many close down to the wire games where one team or the other wins on a last second shot, along with the fact that teams have yet to play each other once to say who is going to finish where. It tells me that anything can, and most likely will happen as far as upsets goes. Take 0-4 MTSU defeating 4-0 UTSA as an example of that.

ODU's games against Marshall, FIU, and LA Tech were all settled within the last 3 seconds of the game and any of them could very easily have ended in a different result. ODU could easily have come out on top of all three games, and also could have easily lost all three games. Coming out 2-1 in them under those circumstances isn't all that bad.

WKU has had significant leads in most if not all of their conference games, yet has had trouble finishing things for one reason or another. It would seem that is something that they can get a handle on over the next few weeks and if so the rest of the league will more than have their hands full trying to beat them. The old saying, "That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger" comes to mind here when thinking about their issues. Having watched some games from every team in CUSA now, WKU to me has the most talented team. They just aren't all playing from the same sheet of music sometimes. I'll be surprised if that doesn't change sometime over the next 3-4 weeks. Keep your heads up. Things are a long, long, long way from being decided.
