What, you and Coastal going back to the Big South, where you both belong.

I would say that Coastal is a budding University in an area that is growing by the day. Their enrollment will likely grow, as will their budget and their notoriety. They are small now but it won't always be that way.

Anyone who travels to Mytle Beach and gets off 31 and goes up 501 can tell you that construction in Myrtle Beach proper is non-stop. Most construction from what I can tell is being done in an effort to boost items of local interest to improve the amenities of permanent residents and not just for tourists.

Want to quantify support here you go:

Charlotte 2017 contributions: $5,045,106
App 2017 contributions: $2,918,412

I see you guys are counting bumper stickers again. It makes sense, you guys see a lot of road time driving for Lyft and Papa John's.

That is absolutely and completely false. Unless, of course, you are speaking about a handful of fans on a message board. Many of us remember the rivalry that we had and we view App as a quality football program.

To Saint’s point, Marshall may have a small amount of influence in CUSA, there are 13 other presidents that vote.

That isn't true. Maybe some of the more vocal ones were against App but the vast majority of the fans I know were all wanting App St.

Good lord people, no one gives a damn about what internet fans think. Your university and athletic leaders made these decisions and none of them gave a damn about your opinions. Welcome to reality, your opinions only matter to you.

Nice job cherry picking the only stat you did better than them.

Ticket Sales

App St- $2,488,012
Charlotte- $1,455,506

Rights/Licensing

App St- $5,569,005
Charlotte- $4,379,358

Total Revenues

Charlotte- $37,931,802
App St-$35,058,621

BUT Charlotte is 67.78% subsidized and App St is only 60.63% subsidized.

We won't even get in to history or facilities.

App St > Charlotte

I think ECU pushed for Charlotte because they knew they were leaving. JMO.

No way anyone with half a brain would have sat down and seriously thought "we should pick Charlotte over App St."

maybe UNCC grads just have a little more disposable income because they saved on student loans by living at home?

Great that you found a website where the schools get to report contributions, from whatever accounting they are doing. Take a look at Arkansas State's #s. Do you think they actually only had $84 K donated in 2015 and $10MM just a few years later?

Cool story, bro. Heres what UNCC actually reported in 2017 according to this

Gifts to annual fund (athletic) $1.317 MM
Annual donations to UNCC athletics (including above #) $2.4 MM

I can't find 2017 data on Yosef club, but here is 2016: Better than UNCC (again)

Total annual contributions: $3.2 MM

So...yeah . We must have some lucrative Lyft and Papa Johns drivers.

From your charlotte link:

“Total contributions to the Athletic Foundation in 2017-2018 were $5.013 million.”

Did you read the part on page 28 where it clearly states total annual contributions of $5.013M? Capital gifts and endowment funds count as part of total contributions.

Like you said no recent data from Yosef Club other than what they reported. If it's more, maybe they should report it.

Ok so we’re clear that you made an apples to oranges comparison to “prove” that UNCC has more support than App. Great.

This is getting silly.

Podunk college towns are always going to have hate for city teams. Reality is, app and Marshall fans are butthurt at how conference realignment has shaken out. Marshall is left behind and App may backfill our spot in CUSA one day, but they are maxed out as well. Congrats to both of you on reaching the peak of your University. Enjoy it.

How is it apples to oranges when both numbers are total annual contributions?

There already IS a Mountain East Conference.

I'm going to start a website where you can input two schools and find out all the ways your school is better than theirs. Stats ranging from crucial to completely arbitrary. Who wants to donate to my startup?

I don't think the majority of Herd fans care about appy. I think the majority of Herd Fans are pissed we didn't get into the AAC. JMHO.

I think App is pretty happy with the Sunbelt.

We get to play our rival, and get more $$$. Same amount of NCAA basketball teams so no advantage there.
