I believe the way the contract is written the ACC will have to play in the Gasparilla to fulfill its bowl contract.

Which is why Aresco and the conference didn't throw a fit last year when it was suppose to be an ACC team. We had already got Temple in the Indy bowl and another A5 opponent.

Memphis won't be in Birmingham. We've been there twice in the last 4 years.

Yep, only 2 P5 opponents. Bad rotations this coming year.

Well, hopefully some other bowls open up for us due to other conferences not filing their bowl allotment.

Hey Memphis, tell AutoZone that they can go pound sand unless they open it up to the AAC. I couldn't imagine not being eligible to play in a bowl in my own stadium.

Use some of that mythical FedEx, Memphis influence we hear about.

why would they turn down games like Arkansas vs KSU

to sign the AAC?

Birmingham, Military, and Armed Forces are solid bowl but we should target the Independence Bowl...good location (casinos), good opponent, and good payout.

The AAC is an affiliate member of the Liberty. That's why we were able to play there last year. But, yeah, that should be a full-time bowl for the AAC. #2 AAC vs. #4-6 SEC.

Of course they wouldn't turn down Arkansas, but Kansas State...? I see about 4 purple shirts in a sea of red.

Liberty should be SEC vs AAC.

the Independence Bowl is far more achievable for the AAC...it's the SEC's 8th and ACC's 7th picks...we should try and get that spot from the SEC as they rarely fill it and many of our teams are close.

Tulane, SMU, Tulsa, Memphis, and Houston are easy drives to Shreveport.

Liberty should be SEC vs AAC.

More likely it will be AAC vs B12 #5/6 in the next bowl period.

Independence and the Sun Bowl will also show interest to the AAC. The Independence has a lot of local push to switch its match up, they aren't happy with the ACC support. The Sun Bowls attendance continues to slip and none of the teams they have gotten the last few years come with local pull or great match ups. The ratings have been decent. The ACC and SEC have also both let it be known that they want lower tier bowls (selections 6+) well in their footprint. The no ny6 bowl money is peanuts to them now and they want drivable locations for a better fan experience.
