Exclamation Arkansas State losing top two assistants (Cauthen & Early)
Football Scoop is reporting that stAte DC Joe Cauthen and DL Coach Brian Early are both headed to Houston.

They're both overdue for a better job.

As a GS fan stated a few days ago, the Gods have really shined upon the eagle faithful. They want this to be Georgia Southern's best year in school history.

You can thank Neal Brown for that.

Some of it needed to happen. The ones that got fired were due to incompetence. Those that are leaving are all quality guys who got bigger pay checks. Reality here in the G5. This adds to the burden for Anderson. That's the last thing he needed. It might all go to **** but all you can do is wait and see. FYI, some rumors I've seen say Trooper Taylor is gone as well. If nothing else happens, our recruiting takes a beating.

Coaching changes are great! You can go 0 and 12 you can go 12 and 0 but with certainty you will get a new coach quick either way. 04-cheers

And we thought the only coaching staff in the Sunbelt that SS would destroy was APPs

RE: Arkansas State losing top two assistants (Cauthen & Early)
Here lies stAte football- may it rest in peace. There is simply no way a head coach on his way out will be able to direct an entire new staff.

We have a lame duck head coach who just wants to oversee things but doesn't want to quit. Nobody would blame him for leaving, but if you decide to stay your job responsibilities aren't diminished. I hate it for Anderson, he's a good guy, albeit a pushover. What's happening to him is terrible and it shouldn't happen to anyone. I don't know how he could even function with the amount of time he needs to spend away from work.

At the same time, millions of dollars are at stake. We've lost our only good coaches. We've already replaced our terrible coaches with more buddies of a failed coaching tree with toxic masculinity that denies CTE exists. Can't wait to see what happens with even more of buddies of his at the helm.

It was fun while it lasted though. I just wish Freeze or Malzahn would have inherited what Blake did.

I guess I’ll go ahead and google North Carolina’s 2018 coaching staff to find our replacements. You know what they say about rats and sinking ships

Ah, it all goes in cycles. You never know with coaching changes like this. Probability is for a down year. But then again new guys want to earn their spurs. One thing we do know. It will be an interesting off season and fun to see what happens next year. It's just football.

If Andrrson goes 6-6 or worse, I'd bet money he's gone.

(Hey, I was right about Withers when Texas State fans said he wasn't going anywhere)

He has 2 years left on his deal. If we finished 6-6, there would be a lot of difficult decisions upcoming, because we'd either have to go into a year with a lame duck coach, give an extension to an extremely unpopular coach, or fire a guy whose wife has cancer and hasn't had a losing season.

In other words, we're screwed no matter what we do.
