JD Gibbs Passes Away
Sad day for our Tribe family as former Tribe football player JD Gibbs (Joe Gibbs’ son) passed away far too young.

https://m.nascar.com/news-media/2019/01/...-obituary/

He will be greatly missed and had a big impact on NASCAR. I have fond memories watching him play and seeing his dad at Zable Stadium.

Heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the entire Gibbs family.

One Tribe. One Family.

Best wishes to his family. I have many fond memories of JD's last two playing years and chatting with Coach Gibbs, who sat next to me in the endzone for every game. Class all the way.

Really sad. I met JD when I was still doing the in-stadium announcing when he was in school, but really got to know him better, in the 1990's, when I was covering NASCAR. Definitely learned how to handle people well from his father. He was a great guy, who loved talking about W&M. Gone too soon.

My heartfelt condolences to Melissa and the four boys, and the Gibbs family.

So cool that Joe Gibbs Racing finished 1, 2, and 3 in the Daytona 500 today with Denny Hamlin's #11 (J.D.'s jersey number at W&M) leading the way.

Emotional moment, on Lap 11, when the JGR crews all held up banners in their pit areas, saluting JD. Coach Gibbs was definitely tearing up.
