WBB vs. UTSA
Strong 1Q for the Owls as Rice takes a 28 - 15 lead (with UTSA hitting a 3 at the buzzer to close it a bit). Nicole might finally be back after struggling late last year and early this year. Strong game last Saturday, and now has 10 points and 4 boards in the first quarter tonight. Erica with 5 points and 4 boards. Mulkey quiet so far as UTSA has focused on her.

34 - 20 Rice at 6:36 of 2Q. Nicole with 16 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 3s), 5 rebounds, 3 assists. Man, if she's finally back to her first half last year form, it gives us 3 strong scoring options. Opposing teams are going to have to pick their poison.

Nicole just became Rice's all-time leader in 3-point shots made.

Two good quarters in a row means Rice is torching UTSA.

Let's see some killer instinct in the 2nd half!

Dominant first half for the ladies, led by Nicole (18 points, 5 boards,, 4 assists) and Erica (11 points, 8 boards). Mulkey relatively quiet (4 points, 4 boards, 3 TOs, 1 block).

I think UTSA is already dead. I suspect Langley will start emptying the bench by the end of the 3Q.

Nicole with a season-high 23 points in 20 minutes; Erica with a double-double (13 points, 12 boards) in 23 minutes. They each missed only two shots from the floor.

RE: WBB vs. UTSA
Really strong effort by the women. Iademarco as others have said finally is looking like the player who I thought should have been considered for preseason all-conference honors. Wiggins and Smith had some nice plays, and even though Mulkey was relatively quiet, when she made her two baskets, you basically realize that very few teams in the country can stop her.

Wow on the UAB loss. That potentially is great news though.

Wiggins turned her ankle in the 4thQ and Mulkey looked like she had a bit of knee discomfort and sat out the 2ndH. Best uptempo offense of the season in the 1stH. Just great passing and finding the open shooter. While she missed some shots Mulkey had several good strong long outlet passes to start breaks.

RE: WBB vs. UTSA
Nicole broke the three point shooting record at Rice tonight. Maulkey played well but really needs to get stronger and be more aggresive if she wants to compete against a tall P5 team. However, she will do fine in Conf. USA. Average crowd ( 300 to 500) at the game including the student section and Rice athletes at the game

Great night for Nicole; looking like a trend. Also, good nights by Lauren & Shani; more minutes than usual and both showed they are still ready to help when needed. Also, great feed by Lauren to get Arianna on the scoreboard. Loved how Tina took her aside for a way-to-go message. Felt bad for Tayler not getting in; wonder if she was ill, hurt or (possibly) redshirting??, but she was in uniform.
