RE: Onside kicks
I like it. It would be more exciting than those onside's attempts. And we'd get to see more of those crazy hook-n-ladder type plays with all of the pitches to the next guy. But I'd probably make it available only in the 4th quarter down by no more than 2 scores.

RE: Onside kicks
I really like the idea. Not sure if the 40 is the best place to put it. I feel like the 30 would be better. Really, the placement just has to be somewhere that doesn't reward the scoring team an unfair chance with a new set of downs, and has to make it so that the average punt would still get to around the 20.

Hopefully this type of change gets implemented in the next few years.

Onside kicks
Totally go for this.

The 40 is perfect since your line-to-make is the other 40.

Make it so.

Also, speaking of drop kicks, drop kicks should count triple. (3PT pat or 9PT FG)

No way should a drop kick field goal count for more than a touchdown. Every time a team got near the redzone they'd kick it instead of going for a TD on whatever down. The team with the best dropkicker would win every game. Should be counted same as placekick, respectively 1 and 3. Degree of difficulty isn't that high which is why it used to only count for 1 point from the field.

RE: Onside kicks
This has nothing to do with onside kicks, but I’ve always liked the idea of based where you are on the field let’s say inside the 10. Your FG is only worth 1 pt, 20-29 2pts, 30-39 3pts, 40-49 4pts, 50+ 5 Pts. We can’t make a 6 yarder equal to a TD.

In the NFL you can kick a 20 yard FG for 3 points, but and xp is what 32 yards or something. Silliness. Stop being bad play callers inside the 10 and get a TD.

As for onside kicks, teams just need to practice them more imo. Practice kicking it at someone, bounce it right off someone’s face mask. Lol. Maybe it’s not that easy, but from what I have seen, this isn’t something most coaches spend much time on.
