RE: @Charleston
Misses the 2nd. Harp rushes up but gets fouled while out of control. Was not shooting. Brantley fouls out. 78-76 with 1.1 seconds left

Not sure how that was considered a shot attempt to be honest. HUGE break for us. Now take advantage.

WOW!!! How did that happen??? This will forever be know as the TD MIRACLE!!!

I had no idea the Harper was even going to play again this season, let alone tonight. He made 2 incredible smart plays in the final seconds to pull out that miraculous win against arguably the best team in the conference and on the road...INCREDIBLE!!!!

RE: @Charleston
Drexel was down 70-57 with 8:20 to play. At that point, ESPN Gamecast gave Charleston a 96.9% chance to win.

Ummm..how did we win 79-78 after being down 80-57? 70-57??

RE: @Charleston
70-57 yes. But they did not make a basket in the last 4 minutes. After the under 4 timeout they made all of 2 FT's. We got pretty fortunate at all of the mental mistakes by CofC. On top of luck bouncing our way.

Ill disagree about Harper being smart. Just because it worked, doesnt mean it was smart. If we drove the basket quickly, thats ok, but we wasted about 20 seconds before driving late. CofC had no business even challenging the drive. We would have been down 1 with them inbounding with 6 seconds left. I realize with us missing and fouling it was basically the same situation, but was not smart. It also took an 85% FT shooter in conference to miss a FT along with another missed front end to allow the opportunity to steal the game. We took advantage. That is a positive. However Harper was not shooting. He took 2 full steps after being tripped before shooting the ball.

Still a huge win and with UNCW getting crushed at home tonight against Delaware, a win there Saturday puts us in a very good position as we would be through the toughest road games for the season.

Drexel was 1-19 in CAA road games under Spiker coming into this one. Charleston had a 22 game home winning streak. Go figure.

That's why the win was so miraculous. They outscored COC 22 to negative 2 down the stretch. That's never been done in the history of basketball, LOL!

That's a great video. Questionable? Yes. But the more I look at it, I actually think that they got the call right. There was only 2 seconds left so he had to put up a shot. And his feet were behind the 3 point line. Obviously, there was no way in a billion years that he could have accurately shot a 3 pointer from that position. But he was getting ready to take a shot as he was tripped. I think that under the rules of basketball, the refs got it right. Very unfortunate if you're a COC fan. Anyway, COC lost the game because they fouled Harper on the play before when they should have just let him in to score. They lost the game because they missed a couple of key free throws down the stretch. And they lost the game because they never should have tripped Harper in the first place. They did not lose the game because of the ref's call.

Agreed JB. Was a total collapse from CofC. Mental breakdowns that cost them late. Still nice to get a road victory in a game about nobody figured would even be competitive. Sitting at 2-3 with a semi-winnable game Saturday is a great place to be. if we are 2-4 or 3-3 through the toughest part of the conference schedule, that bodes very well.

Yep. About 12 separate things happened in that last 8 minutes that went wrong for CofC. If even one of them doesn’t happen, CofC probably wins. That 9-0 run you had which cut it from 13-4 was probably the biggest cog. Who knows where the game ends up if one of those shots are missed.

Agree - during that run Demir hit 2 3's and a couple nice drives to the basket. We also got Brantley on 2 charging calls during that run - one drew from John and the other from Harp. That setup the last 4 minutes of the game in which CofC was downright horrible. We showed a lot of heart to come back though, especially on the road.
