Jefferies in to try to hold the lead and secure the Silver Glove.

RE: Rice vs. UH for the Silver Glove
Couple of ground outs ends it. Owls win 2-1.

Congrats on regaining the Silver Glove. Nice win - maybe it might not mean much for Rice but it's not going to help UH's cause.

RE: Rice vs. UH for the Silver Glove
Leadoff walk for UH, the 11th free pass issued by Rice pitchers tonight.
Davis is now up with a chance to walk it off....but he pops it up the first pitch. One down.
Single puts runners on 1B and 2B, with one out.
Jefferies now in. Strange decision given how wild Kendall was when he came in to relieve Kravetz on Saturday. Save for his one walk, Bordwine was throwing strikes.
Next batter grounds out, BUT both runners move into scoring position. Two outs.
UH sends in a PH who's hitting only .219 himself. Ground out.
Ball game! And we get the Silver Glove back!
The relief pitching of Lewis, Bordwine and Jefferies, plus error-free defense, won this game...in spite of an offensive offense. 3 singles is all we could muster against UH's mid-week pitchers. Ugh.

Coogs gifted this one to the Owls. I guess they were returning the favor from game 2.

Don't forget Wood (and that's who Jefferies replaced). 2.1 innings of relief for him with 3 K's.

Yup, my oversight. Wood was solid tonight.

Owls win the Silver Glove even when they aren't at their best this year. Gotta love it!

Recap on Riceowls.com says the Owls had 6 hits last night.
Wishful thinking? Or maybe someone’s mom was keeping score?

Corrected now.
I sent them a "Found a Typo?" note. I'm glad to see someone actually reads such submissions and takes action as needed.
