I predict that the media will now unsheathe their long knives and go after Saban. He has treated the press with contempt, but was immune to attack due to his outstanding success. It is payback time despite Alabama's achievements over recent years compared to other schools.

Somewhere today, there’s multiple SEC fans still saying Bama should be the national champions because Clemson “didn’t beat anybody during the regular season” and “Clemson could never make it through a full SEC schedule undefeated”

The SEC went 6-6 in the post season - hardly the stuff of dominance.
