RE: MBB vs. La Tech
I think Pera has done a good job developing a quality coaching staff. In fact, I think his group of assistants (both years) was better than Rhoades' 3 years (which is ironic since Pera was one of the assistants under Rhoades). I also think our S&C coach for basketball deserves credit because he's been able to keep that group pretty healthy, which is always tough to do (look around the league and you'll see a lot of key injuries for a bunch of teams).

Knock on wood for that last comment that it continues.

Every time I (and others as well) encounter one of the players or coaches before or after a game they thank me for attending and supporting the program...it in no way seems to be a PR move but a genuine feeling.

We've climbed up to 206 in the latest NCAA NET rankings, one spot ahead of Cal, and ahead of fellow CUSA teams FIU, UTEP, Charlotte and Middle Tennessee.

Interestingly, our RPI and NET appear to be identical right now.

Up to #275 on kenpom.com ... ahead of MidTenn & Charlotte.

Jack Williams was named CUSA Player of the Week after a pair of double-doubles. Nice honor for him.

Nice to see for Jack. He contributes in a lot of important ways. Hopefully nobody copies his shot form

Sort of like copying Bagwell’s stance.

Don’t see too many (any?) doing that either, thankfully. But hey, it worked for him!

Jack is the epitome of a battler. Like Egor. not quite that shooter though

We have a few more like Jack and Egor. Senior players who put teams on their backs after terrible seasons the year before. Off the top of my head I would put Erik Cooper and Tamir Jackson in that group.

Seth Gearhart as well. Actually under Willis Wilson, it was an almost yearly occurrence.

Ah the good old days when our seniors played at Rice and not elsewhere.

I agree that it was fun to watch Seth his senior year. His improvement over the prior years was amazing.

But, I dream of a balanced team including mature seniors down to exciting freshman all competing for a conference championship.
