Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
I don’t know if this has been discussed, but any idea how this will work with home/road splits? Will the league make an effort to give teams a home game against a team in their pod that they traveled to during the regular schedule?

Let’s say this is the top 5 pod (current KenPom ratings):

ODU
WKU
Southern Miss
North Texas
LaTech

For example, would USM go to WKU and host ODU (reverse of the regular season) or is CUSA fine with WKU going back to Hattiesburg and USM to Norfolk?

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
I dont remember us talking about it, but I can imagine it will be a major point of contention among us fans when we get to that point. Not all road games in this conference are created equal.

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
I'm sure that if you already went to WKU and played once, you'd probably have WKU come to you in pods. It's all how it shakes out though. First year doing it so I expect something unfair to happen to someone, it's just a matter of who. Since they can create the schedule I hope they would make things easier on the top half of each group but you never know.

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
Don’t think it’s been addressed. Other than all teams will get two home and two away I don’t think anything can be gauranteed. I would think travel would be the top factor. Avoiding having to play in Texas on Thursday and then get back home or to Marshall say by Sat would be a bigger concern for ODU than having to play away twice at the same place in a season

I was wondering that part myself as when looking at each team's schedule it has it set up to where there are 5 "bonus games" so that alone would mean it will be an uneven split for these games.

5 potential dates for games but each team will play four games (2 home & 2 away) the extra date will be an open date (no game.)

So you have 5 available dates to play 4 games.

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
It was addressed early in the season. So lets say the standings go as this. WKU 1, ODU 2, UNT 3, La Tech 4, Marshall 5.

In the above case.

#1 WKU would have home games vs #2 ODU and #3 UNT regardless of if they have already played there this year. WKU would have road games at#4 La Tech and at #5 Marshall.

#2 ODU would have home games vs #3 UNT and #4 La Tech, and road games at #1 WKU and at #5 Marshall.

#3 UNT would have home games vs #4 La Tech and #5 Marshall. And road games at #1 WKU and at #2 ODU.

#4 La Tech would have home games vs #1 WKU and #5 Marshall. And road games at #2 ODU and #3 UNT.

#5 Marshall would have home games vs #1 WKU and #2 ODU. And road games at La #4 Tech and #3 UNT.

At least all of this is to the best of my understanding after reading explanations of stuff earlier in the season.

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
I'm pretty sure Rojo had it right..but that's just from my previous recollections.

1 - Home vs. 2/3 Road vs. 4/5
2 - Home vs. 3/4 Road vs. 1/5
3 - Home vs 4/5 Road VS. 1/2
4 - Home vs 5/1 Road VS 2/3
5 - Home VS 1/2 Road vs. 3/4

4 - Home vs 5/1 Road VS 2/3

So 6-10 would be the same setup?? How does 11-14 work since there's only 4 in that group instead of 5 OR is 6-14 grouped together?

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
This year UNT gets Southern Miss, LA Tech, UAB, Marshall, & WKU at home and only ODU on the road. So UNT only has to play 1 of the top 7 teams on the road before the pod games start.

Mercy. Next year's schedule is going to be BRUTAL then.

That one I have no clue on, I don't remember , but for some reason I thought 6-14 were just clumped together for now, until the conference can prove 6 or more teams belong with the top 5?

The chances of the top teams this year repeating as the top 5, 6 or 7 teams next year is probably slim

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
So really the potential areas for "unfairness" is in the regularly scheduled games, not so much the pod games. If you have to play all of the top teams away that is a huge disadvantage, if you play all of the top teams at home that is a HUGE advantage. Looking at the actual schedules ODU plays WKU, Marshall, USM, AND North Texas ALL at home with no scheduled return game. And if they win the first part of conference play then they will get two more home games against the top two of those.

RE: Question about MBB “dynamic scheduling”
I really think this is going to backfire. It’s just giving the top teams more chances at a loss to end the season. No matter if it is a perceived “good loss” or not. Still a loss. Any loss that time of the year will be a negative in the committee’s eyes.
