You should have seen what was written before they played a down of football, Big East and SEC comments.

That 49er fan isnt wrong about Marshall being left behind in CUSA permanently...
Possible, but not set in stone.

I feel like every post by a UNCC fan should have a tagline on the end that reads: THIS IS WHAT UNCC FANS ACTUALLY BELIEVE. A la Southpark Scientology episode.
I seriously thought they were just trolling for the longest time. Then I realized I was giving them to much credit. There's no way anyone could keep this up for as long as they have.
They are truly special.

UNCC fans are in a constant state of self inflicted twilight zone. The can however pull up random stats of how great women's soccer will be to their eventual invite to the ACC. These are usually right next to threads of why local Charlotte media never reports on them, or how much their administration has screwed up, etc.
Really an interesting bunch, definitely believe a case study is in order to figure out how this came about. Honestly I believe if you call yourself a UNCC fan given the options around the area and state you must have a chemical imbalance to begin with.

What if they just went to the school and support their alma mater? Do they still have a chemical imbalance?

Depends if they are able to determine reality or not for all.

I've lived around these people practically my entire adult life. This isn't a recent development. Every generation that goes through those doors, well the 5% that actually care about athletics, for some reason has a superiority complex that is hard to understand. It all started with the trip to the Final Four in 1977, but after 40 years of mediocrity who knows why it still remains. They are truly a unique bunch.

One would've thought a 45-9 shalacking on their own field where they brought in temporary seating and made special game day souvenir cups just for us would've humbled them a little........
Whatever you do, don't screw up and actually lose to them (or worse yet, three years in a row) and let them think they belong! Not that we know anything about doing something like that.
"belong"
to take the bait or not
I'll just leave this here....
Record (W-L-T): 19-54-0
And before you or someone else does it..... 2-3. I get it. We screwed up. Which is all the more reason that it makes us do this and this But it will be rectified soon enough.

C-USA alternate reality
I recall a few months back someone stating that UNCC viewed their self as a basketball school. I had never heard that before. Still not buying it.

RE: C-USA alternate reality
CUSA fans are acting like they are with the ACC and B10 when it comes to basketball.
We should refer to them as our #OneBidBrothers during basketball season to remind them they are on the same echelon with us.

You should probably add that basketball season runs from the beginning of November to early April.

Except for the Sun Belt and CUSA who's season usually goes from November to mid-march

That's great #OneBidBrother keep up the good work
I'm so glad y'all are making your #OneBigLeague as successful as a league with only one bid just like the Sun Belt can be

Serious question about Marshall basketball:
Do you guys also bring in non-qualifiers for basketball? I'm really impressed with the attendance, and if you're doing things the right way, i'll become a Marshall basketball fan until App gets the ship right.

And you see how well its working out for you guys. You're still getting a single bid, and having to hope that you get a lucky pairing like Marshall did last year with a Wichita team that was falling apart in round 1.

We have zero NQs in basketball that I know of. We get a lot of local/regional kids that other schools pass on. Our coach is excellent at developing talent and we play a very exciting brand of basketball.
Averaging almost 6,700/game right now and biggest crowd this year has only been 7,667 for the WKU game. We had over 8,300 at a game last year so still hoping to get back to that. We haven't sold out (9k+) in 4-5 years.
Yes, our football takes a lot of NQs. I wish we did a better job with it if we are going to take them though.
EDIT: If you like the style of play that the Houston Rockets run then you will like Marshall's style. Our HC Dan D'Antoni is the older brother of Mike D'Antoni who is the HC of the Rockets. Both are from WV and played basketball at Marshall.

CUSA has won our first round game every year. Partly because we get a higher seed than the Sun Belt. Getting a 12 seed as opposed to a 13 seed means you have 1.5 times better chance of winning first round game which equals another unit aka same as 2 bids losing in first round.
We also have 11 NIT bids to your 3 since realignment. Every dollar counts when you are a G5 school. You guys pointed that out while crowing (as you should) about getting a few hundred thousand dollars more in CFP payout.
NIT does pay out, just nothing like NCAA, but home team gets to make some money off gate (15%) and concessions.
