Power 6 indeed.

Based on...what exactly? Which P5 teams has the Sunbelt beaten this year that actually had a winning record?

What Power 5 loss can you point to that shows that's not the case? App's OT loss to Penn State or losses to Alabama and Clemson?

We're not the AAC and get lots of cream puff P5s.

On the other hand, the ACC is super weak other than Clemson.

That was a something had to give game...AAC's bowl ineptness vs general weakness of the middle of the ACC.

Success in bowl games is correlated the perception of your conference and individual teams' under/over achievement during the regular season.

The AAC when the current bowl alignment was set was perceived as a stronger conference and thus received better bowls and matchups.

2020 everything will be reset and the AAC will play more G5 opponents and their bowl record will improve.

Good point, explains why the horrible CUSA was so successful in the bowls, ... they had the weakest of all opponents.

Hmm. But how did our OOC strength of schedule compare as a conference? I'd wanna know that alongside this information. Though I'm pretty sure the SBC had the hardest OOC game with ULL vs Bama

League had 3 games against teams playing in the National title this year

AState and UL vs Bama
Georgia Southern vs Clemson

CUSA played more difficult games on average according to Massey. Not gonna go in and add up the exact means.

Average opponent rankings for bowls.

AAC 53.6 (includes #9 LSU)
CUSA 61
MAC 62.5
MWC 63.6
SB 71.4

That would be accurate, our opponents were from the MAC and CUSA.
