Don’t think Tilman has any money left to buy them bigger and better. Best bet is they jump further in the trash and promote baby Briles from OC to HC.

Troy beating the best program in the MAC. Showing why the MAC is the worst conference in CFB.

RE: Bowl Season thread
LaTech's Jaylon Ferguson became the NCAA's all-time leading sack man during tonight's 31-14 bowl victory at Hawaii. He tallied 45 sacks in four years (53 games, 0.85 sack/game) to surpass Terrell Suggs (44 sacks in 3 years for Arizona State, 2000-03).
But only two of them came in LaTech's 4 games against our Owls (0.5 sack/game) ... one each in his freshman (2015) and sophomore (2016) years.
FTR, the overall NCAA career sack record is 56 by Marcus Martin of DII Slippery Rock ( 2014-17).

First Responder Bowl in Dallas was cancelled due to the threat of lightning after an 1.5 hr delay with BC up 7 - 0 over Boise St. That sucks for those that showed up including the teams. Has this ever happened before?

The closest thing off the top of my head is the 1942 Rose Bowl (Duke vs. Georgia Tech) being moved to Durham., N.C., due to fears of a Japanese attack.

Did the threat of lightning persist? Or did ESPN decide the game shouldn't be played because the next one (Minnesota vs. Ga.Tech) was ready to start?

According to this SB Nation article:
Quote:When was the last time a bowl game got canceled?
Among the standard slate of FBS bowls, it’s not clear when the last one was.
The NCAA lists the 2000 BCA Classic, a season kickoff game the NCAA mentions in its bowl record book, as being canceled due to weather. It notes that the 1941 Hawaii Rainbows had a postseason game canceled due to the attack on Pearl Harbor. The 2013 C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl was canceled due to weather, but that’s not an FBS bowl.
It does not mention any of FBS’ postseason games getting called off. That’s not to say it’s never happened, but this event’s in the neighborhood of “never happened before.”
Also ironic ... SERVPRO’s slogan is "Like it never even happened."
SERVPRO is a franchiser of fire and water cleanup and restoration businesses. ... “So when the need arises for professional cleaning or emergency restoration services, SERVPRO Franchise Professionals have the training and expertise to help make it ‘Like it never even happened,’ ” says Servpro's website.
And that's exactly what happened to today's SERVPRO First Responder Bowl.

There are severe thunderstorms with a tornado watch in effect throughout DFW through the end of the night.

The National Weather Service still has thunder as "likely" until midnight, so there really isn't a chance to get the game in today. The bigger crime is that the bowl will not refund tickets. I get that the game is an independent for profit venture, but they ought to have insurance to cover this. BC is offering a refund plus a choice of another sporting event until next December to anybody who bought tickets through their athletics department, but there's nothing for Boise fans or anyone who bought directly from the bowl or through a service like StubHub.

I attended one of the early 1980's Rose Bowls where UCLA was playing, and Cal Tech students hijacked the scoreboard. I'm pretty sure they turned off the scoreboard in the 4th quarter but the game was completed. Maybe the same year they had a remote control blimp of some type come out of the field during the game? Nowadays, I bet you a similar move would cause a cancellation as people would fear it was a terrorist attack.

Thats’s just wrong. Does the sponsor get their money back? Unless someone steps up to do the right thing, the bad PR will cost them and the bowl.

At least the screen at the Cotton Bowl didn't put up "2018 SERVPRO Bowl Cancelled Due to Weather, Like it Never Happened"

I think everyone was ready to go home by the half.

Auburn's 56 points was the most ever scored by a single team in a half of any bowl ever.
